Rotherham United look set to finish on a high as five wins from six, has seem them climb out of the relegation places and more or less securing Championship status for a third consecutive season.

A huge part of this success has been down to new manager Neil Warnock working his magic, instilling a passion and attitude within the players to grind out results and never give in.

The Millers are a small club with a small budget in the grand scheme, so to think they are competing in the Championship is excellent considering some of the money which is thrown around at the upper end of the table.

As with all the teams though in the Championship, the Millers squad needs new blood, and with that will come players who will need to be shown the door.

If Warnock does keep the job, he will likely want to add some of his own players to the squad, and this will mean moving some out.

Here are FIVE Rotherham United players who should be axed at the end of the season........

Emmanuel Ledesma

The say the Argentine has been a disappointment would be an understatement, with Ledesma simply not featuring as much as many would have hoped and expected this season.

He has not featured under Warnock, and looks likely to be moved on in the summer.

It is a bit of an odd case for the Argentine, who has bags of ability and can certainly perform when he puts his mind too it. But a move looks on the cards now, and the Millers will surely wield the axe on the former Boro man come the summer.

Lewis Buxton

The right back has not been that impressive at all since signing from Sheffield Wednesday, where he was expected to add a new dimension to the Millers back four.

Buxton has been poor throughout most of the season and may well find himself looking for a new club in the summer.

A seasoned Championship campaigner, there will be many clubs in League One and at the lower end of the league certainly willing to take a look at him.

Danny Collins

A player most Millers fans will agree has to go, Collins is probably the worst defender at the club at the moment, and is always likely to have an error in him.

Collins has never been the greatest centre half, and this has been demonstrated more than ever this season in his performances.

Kirk Broadfoot has been pretty solid at the back, and with new players likely to come in, it is hard to see Collins being given a chance again with Rotherham United.

There will be many fans hoping he does not sign for their club though, and it may be time for Collins to chance his arm in the lower leagues rather than the Championship.

Paul Green

The former Derby man has had a shocker this term, and is not even making the squad anymore for the Millers under Warnock.

Green started his Rotherham career in fine fashion, impressing with his performances, but he has since seen this form dip, and looks a shadow of the player that they signed.

Green looks well set to being on his way come the summer. He won't struggle to find a club given his reputation and quality, but he needs to rediscover some of his form of old if he is to find a new club.

Luciano Becchio

Becchio was a bit of a gamble by the club which has not paid off, and he looks certain be sent on his way.

He enjoyed a profitable loan spell previously, but since being injured and never quite finding full fitness, he has struggled to get back to the level which saw him impress so much for Leeds United.

Becchio may well be at the end of his career, and might struggle to find himself a new club given his age and current injury record.

It is a shame that he has seen his career whittle down like it has, but Rotherham cannot afford to carry players who are offering little to the cause.
