Steve Evans will become the joint longest serving manager of the Italian’s erratic reign in Yorkshire and the Scot has done a reasonable job in charge.
To ask the 53-year old Scot to completely change their trajectory, which has largely been spiralling downwards since 2014, would be too much.
However, will the former Rotherham boss be the right man to lead them back into the Promised Land?
Only time will tell on that front, though there is currently a candidate out of work who would surely work wonders with the Whites.
