The 22-year-old midfielder is one of Derby's best players and has represented England at youth level, and is regarded as one of the division's best midfielders.

He has been plagued with injury since his move to Derby from West Bromwich Albion, by sadly rupturing his cruciate knee ligaments at the beginning of last season ,and missed most of the season because of it.

But his return to fitness this season has been like a new signing for Derby, and he will be essential in their push for promotion this season and may of been the missing piece of the jigsaw from recent seasons.

Thorne is only 22, yet he already a consistent starter in the midfield of a team with one of the strongest squads in the league.

Having represented England at numerous youth levels he is very experienced for his age and has already proved at the start of this season, that he is one of the best young players in the Championship.

Tipped as a future England star, Thorne is a good long term investment for any Premier League side and should bring in plenty of cash for Derby.

Vision

Perhaps Thorne's biggest strength is the unbelievable vision he possesses in the midfield for Derby, and he can pick out passes that his team mates can't.

A key assist maker in the Derby team, he is important in the function of striker Chris Martin and the rest of the attacking midfield who have to provide service to Martin.

Thorne has good spacial awareness and this helps his vision and ability to deliver pinpoint crosses and passes.
