Reports have emerged linking Premier League side West Ham United with a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Pereira.
Pereira has arguably been the Championship’s best performer this season, having scored six goals and assisted 16 in his 33 league appearances for West Bromwich Albion.
Joining the Baggies last summer on a one-year loan deal from Portuguese side Sporting, Pereira has provided Slaven Bilic with a superb attacking option, playing either on the right hand side of an attacking midfield three or in the centre.
With such good form, West Brom are keen to carry out their obligation to purchase Pereira come the end of the season, a clause that was included in the loan deal.
However, recent interest from West Ham now seems to have thrown a spanner in the works with Football Insider reporting the Premier League side’s interest.
The said fee for Albion to complete the deal is £8.25m, but interest from the Hammers could see them sign the Brazilian and then sell for a higher amount.
