5 Reading FC players that will be in the Premier League before you know it

PAGE 2/6

Michael Hector

hectorrrrrLike many Reading players, Hector has been on the books of Premier League clubs.

In a deadline day deal, Hector signed for Premier League club Chelsea.

As part of the deal, he was sent back on loan to the Royals for the 2015–16 season.

Hector was spotted by Reading after playing against them in a friendly for Barking Abbey and joined on scholarship terms at the start of the 2009–10 season.

Between signing for Reading and penning his Chelsea deal in 2015, Hector was loaned out to a number of Football League including Barnet and Cheltenham Town.

So far this season, he has made a great contribution at the heart of the Royals’ defence – helping his side to 11 clean sheets in the league. His power and strength will also be something on the radar of Premier League sides due to the fact that he can ease strikers of with very little effort.

After a few years of getting some experience under his belt, Hector looks to be reaching new heights in his career. The 23 year-old has made 24 league appearances this season as well as appearing twice in the FA Cup.

Not known for his attacking ability, Hector has also scored a goal in his sides historic 3-1 win over West Brom in the FA last month. As a result, you’d fully expect Chelsea to be looking at the younger defender for a potential return to Stamford Bridge as captain John Terry looks to be heading out the London club at the end of the season.
