When central defender Tom Lees signed for Sheffield Wednesday at the start of last season, many Leeds United fans were up in arms as to why they had let such a promising player leave to a regional and divisional rival.
At the tender age of 25, Lees still has a very bright future in football ahead of him, and he has established himself as one of the best central defenders in the Championship over the last two seasons in a real coming of age.
The Birmingham-born player has been instrumental in Wednesday’s decent start to the season which has seen them flirt with the play-off places in the Championship, and reach the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.
