Following their recent takeover – Bradford City have decided to part ways with popular manager Phil Parkinson who leaves to join Bolton Wanderers.
Parkinson was one of the top serving managers in English football with nearly five years under his belt with the Bantams.
He leaves the club with his head held high having achieved a lot with the League One side. A cup final appearance, entertaining, hard working football and the uncanny ability to ‘giant kill’ with clubs such as Chelsea falling to Bradford.
With German investors Edin Rahic and Stefan Rupp completing their takeover of the club in May, there was always a little doubt over the future of Parkinson. Something always changes with new owners as they come in with their own plans for the future.
Rahic and Rupp’s take-over began to spark rumours that German manager Uwe Rosler could come in to the frame and the duo’s failure to publicly back Parkinson hinted that an exit was possibly near.
