Oxford United have had a superb rise in the 21st century and are now fighting it out for promotion to the Championship this season.

The U's have had a lot of players in their past, and some have been far more successful than others in staying memorable for supporters.

Here are FIVE players you probably forgot played for Oxford United...

Windass only spent the one season at the U's but he was very successful and prolific at the club. He is now retired and is well-known for scoring the winning goal for Hull City in a Championship play-off final.

Roberts was at Oxford on loan, and was fairly promising during his time at the club. He's now playing first-team football for Championship promotion contenders Leeds United.

Here's one quite a few won't have remembered featured for Oxford. He's now one of the top-scorers in League One, playing his football at Blackpool.

Kitson made a name for himself at Reading, but he went onto play more football after the Royals.

Oxford allowed him to live locally whilst carrying on playing the beautiful game.

Martinez has had a somewhat stalled career since his time at Oxford. He was excellent on loan at Reading last season, but is still number two at Arsenal.
