Hull City are currently enduring a frustrating period, with the Tigers having suffered five defeats in their last six matches in the Championship and in the midst of something of an injury crisis.

The Tigers will be looking to make sure they get through the season without any more real injury problems, and Grant McCann will be hopeful that he can manage to get his side to pick up some form and prevent their slide down the Championship table.

Hull have had to get used to life in the Championship over the last few seasons, having suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2016/17 season and it could be a while before the Tigers are able to get back to the top flight, with McCann having a rebuilding job to do.

The Tigers have had some very talented players playing for the club over the last few seasons, especially during their time in the Premier League, but they have also had some more forgettable players lining out for them during that period.

Here then, we take a look at five players you probably forgot once played for Hull…

One player who Hull supporters can be forgiven for have forgotten his time at the club is Dele Adebola, with the much traveled striker having joined the Tigers in the summer of 2011, as the club looked to get some extra firepower and physicality into their attacking options ahead of the 2011/12 season.

However, Adebola would go onto play only a bit part role for the Tigers during that campaign in the Championship, making just ten appearances for the club in all competitions and struggling for any real form in front of goal, before he was allowed to leave the club at the end of the campaign.

Cooper is currently the captain of promotion-chasing Leeds United having been with the Yorkshire club since 2014, but the defender had started his career with Hull coming through the Tigers’ youth academy and making his debut for the club in August 2008 in a League Cup tie against Swansea City.

However, Cooper largely struggled to force his way into the starting line-up during his time with Hull, and he was sent out on loan spells to Carlisle United, Huddersfield Town and Chesterfield, making just 11 appearances for the Tigers before eventually joining Chesterfield on a permanent deal in January 2013 – and given his career since, he could be viewed as one that got away.

Another player who Hull fans might have forgotten played for the club is Adriano Basso, with the goalkeeper best known in England for his five-year spell at Bristol City. The keeper though did play for the Tigers during the 2011/12 season having arrived on a free transfer following a successful trial in the summer of 2011.

Basso, though, found first team minutes hard to come by in his one and only year with the Tigers finding himself behind both Peter Gulacsi and Vito Mannone at times, which limited him to just 14 appearances before he was allowed to leave the club at the end of the 2011/12 season in search of regular game time elsewhere.

Hull supporters might have forgotten that Nick Powell did spend time with the club on loan during the 2015/16 season, as the Tigers looked to secure promotion back to the Premier League under Steve Bruce, and the Tigers brought the attacking midfielder into the club on loan from Manchester United on the last day of 2016 winter transfer window.

Powell, though, was another player who struggled to make any real impression during his short spell with the Tigers, with the attacking midfielder struggling to force his way into the side ahead of Hull’s other midfield options, which saw him limited to just three league appearances before he returned to his parent club the following summer.

Another member of the Hull squad which secured promotion back to the Premier League in the 2015/16 season was Ryan Taylor, who arrived at the club in the summer of 2015 following his departure from Newcastle United, with Steve Bruce hoping the versatile midfielder or defender could add some extra quality to his squad.

Taylor, though, struggled to force his way into the side on a regular basis during his time at the club, making just a single start in the league in a 2-0 win at home to Huddersfield Town, and making just a further three substitute appearances for the Tigers before being released in the summer of 2016.
