Whilst Derby County have had their fair share of talented individuals at Pride Park in recent years, not every player who has joined the club has gone to achieve a great deal of success.

During the 2019/20 campaign, the likes of Matt Clarke and Wayne Rooney have made a relatively positive impact under the guidance of Rams manager Phillip Cocu.

However, Kieran Dowell and Jamie Paterson were allowed to leave the club last month having failed to make any sort of impression in the second-tier for Derby.

Having failed to bolster his squad during the previous transfer window, it will be intriguing to see whether Cocu can achieve a relative amount of success with his current roster of players between now and May.

Here, we take a look at five former Derby players who you may have forgot played for the club in the past...

Signed on a short-term loan deal from Manchester United in 2015, Jesse Lingard went on to make 15 appearances for the club in all competitions in which he provided four direct goal contributions.

Currently being forced to watch on from the sidelines at Old Trafford following a drop-off in performance levels, the midfielder will be hoping to step up to the mark in the coming months for the Red Devils in the Premier League.

Brought to the club on a temporary basis by then-manager Nigel Clough in 2009, DJ Campbell netted three goals and produced one assist in eight appearances for Derby before returning to Leicester City.

Following a brief spell with National League South side Maidenhead United, the striker opted to call time on his playing career in 2015.

Jack Butland had a brief spell at Pride Park five years ago as he joined the Rams on loan from Stoke.

During the six appearances that he made for Derby in the Championship, the goalkeeper kept two clean-sheets before re-joining the Potters where he has since established himself as a mainstay in the club's starting eleven.

After a loan spell at Leicester City, Michael Keane joined Derby on a temporary basis from Manchester United in 2013.

The defender went on to make eight appearances for the Rams before being sent back to the Red Devils in the January transfer window due to the fact that he was no longer guaranteed first-team football in the second-tier.

With Derby needing to draft in some cover for goalkeeper Stephen Bywater, Clough opted to sign David Martin on loan from Liverpool in 2010.

The shot-stopper, who now plays for West Ham United, featured on two occasions for the Rams in the Championship during his time at the club.
