Sky Bet Championship outfit Nottingham Forest ended their long search for a new head coach this morning when they announced the appointment of Frenchman Philippe Montanier into the vacant role.
The former Real Sociedad and Rennes manager comes with a solid background in European football and his remit will be to improve on last season’s 16th placed finish, which was seen by many as an underachievement.
The squad that Montanier will inherit at the City Ground boasts a considerable amount of talent and with a few tweaks, he will be of the belief that the club can challenge in and around the top six.
The Reds will take on Burton Albion in their first Championship fixture next season and with the new head coach will undoubtedly be keen to fly out of the blocks in 2016/17.
