The season is up and running and players are starting to find their feet as we approach a quarter of the way through the season.

There are an abundance of top quality footballers in the Championship, and it is always a tough call to say who has individually been the best player in a select month.

However, who are the players going above and beyond this October? Is it Brentford's Alan Judge, in-form Reading FC striker Nick Blackman, or maybe someone else?

We at Football League World have selected FIVE players who have been in fine form in October, and would definitely be worthy of the award!

Alan Judge – Brentford

Alan Judge has been a really important player for Brentford this month.

They have picked up three wins on the bounce, and are playing in a more familiar attacking way again with Alan Judge the feature.

The Irish international continued his impressive form at the weekend with a goal and two assist’s which helped his side take three points at Charlton Athletic.

Nick Blackman – Reading

He is the Championship’s top scorer this year with nine goals, which has kept the Royals with the front runners at the top end of the table.

The former Sheffield United forward has been very consistent since the start of the season and Reading will need him firing in the goals if they want a serious promotion push.

Moussa Dembele – Fulham

Dembele scored his third goal in four days against Reading at the weekend.

The 19-year-old starlet has been linked intensely with various Premier League clubs, since he has broken into the first team.

After losing Patrick Roberts to Manchester City last season, Fulham need someone that is able to step up on the big occasion and provide a goal for their team, and Dembele is certainly doing that.

Five goals in eight games so far this season.

George Thorne – Derby County

The Derby man has made the most tackles and passes throughout the whole division.

Certainly an influential part to Derby’s success so far this season.

He also scored a cracker against Huddersfield at the weekend.

Fernando Forestieri – Sheffield Wednesday

The former Italy Under-21 international has bagged three goals in seven Owls starts since his £3 million move from Watford in August.

This includes the decisive strike in Friday’s televised victory over Rotherham United.

The Italian’s movement up front has been a key figure for the Championship side and has been the key player for Sheffield Wednesday’s fine form this season.
