Bradford City have made a relatively strong start to this year's league campaign in the fourth tier of English football.

The Bantams were relegated into League Two last term, and will be hoping to make a swift return to League One under the guidance of Gary Bowyer at Valley Parade.

Bowyer's men currently sit third in the table heading into the potentially season-defining festive period, so they've put themselves in a strong position.

The likes of James Vaughan and Paudie O'Connor have been impressive for Bradford so far this season, and they'll be keen to build on some impressive showings in recent weeks.

There are some experienced players in the current first team squad, with Clayton Donaldson also being one of the players that will be crucial to aiding the development of the younger members of the squad.

There's always room for improvement in a squad though, and the January transfer window could be an interesting one for Bowyer's side.

We take a look at FIVE players who could make a difference for the Bantams if they arrived in the January transfer window.

Edmonds-Green signed a contract extension with Huddersfield, and is likely to be featuring for their first team in the coming seasons.

But the defender has been restricted to just one appearance in the EFL Cup for the Terriers, so he's clearly well down the pecking order in Danny Cowley's plans at the moment.

A loan move could be ideal for Edmonds-Green as he looks to prove himself in senior football on a consistent basis.

He'd add some good competition to the likes of Paudie O'Connor this season.

Read has been in excellent form so far this season for Torquay, as he's the top goalscorer in the Vanarama National League with 14 league goals to his name to date.

It would be a tough ask for the forward to force his way into the Bradford City starting XI with the likes of Clayton Donaldson and James Vaughan already occupying those spots.

But he's shown that he has an eye for goal with Torquay in the National League, and could be worth a punt as a move to Valley Parade will be a tempting proposition for the 25-year-old.

Barrett has shown glimpses of his quality this season for Reading, but he's not been in the starting XI much this term in their league campaign.

The Royals youngster scored in a pre-season friendly against Chelsea, and then netted a brace against Plymouth Argyle in the EFL Cup.

So it's clear to see that he can cut it in League Two and he would add some much-needed creativity to the Bradford team to supply the likes of James Vaughan and Clayton Donaldson with the service they need.

A loan spell for the winger could be the best move for him heading into the January transfer window.

Buchanan hasn't done much wrong so far this season for the Derby first team.

The youngster has made two appearances in the EFL Cup, and has looked impressive for the Rams, and will surely be tempted by a loan move away from the club in January.

Competition for places is never a bad dilemma to have for a manager, and Bowyer would be getting a player that is eager to prove himself in senior football in his breakthrough season.

Williams has been hugely impressive with Exeter City this season, and has been key to their positive start to the season in League Two.

The 22-year-old has one goal and seven assists to his name so far, and he'll be confident of adding to that tally as the season progresses.

It would take a good offer from Bradford to prize him away from one of their promotion rivals in January, but it would certainly send out a real statement about their intentions this term.
