Following the release of the Championship fixtures, all coaches, managers, players and fans know what has in store for them next season - well, they at least know when the chaos will begin.

For Leeds United, they face a tough test in their opening game of the season again Queen's Park Rangers. Garry Monk's reign at Elland Road will definitely not have an easy start with an away trip to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side standing in the way for them.

Monk will most certainly be keen to make a good start at Elland Road. Of course, every manager will want to do so, but perhaps Monk more than any.

The pressures that come with managing a club the size of Leeds have only increased since Massimo Cellino took charge of the in 2014. And, for Monk, that will be no different. If anything, there will be even more pressure because many football fans expect him to do well in English football's second tier.

As a result, the ex-Swansea boss will be keen to bring in some impressive signings in order to boost the squad at Elland Road.

Strength in depth is key at any level of football but perhaps more so at levels as high as the Championship. Notoriously known as one of the most competitive leagues in England, Monk will know just how large the task laid out in front of him is.

Therefore, a good recruitment process over the summer will be imperative is Monk in order to kick his Leeds reign off with a bang.

Here are FIVE players who could follow Monk's first signing, Marcus Antonsson, to Elland Road...

Ashley Fletcher

20-year-old Fletcher is said to be at the top of Garry Monk's wishlist and there is certainly no mystery as to why that is.

The young striker is currently on the books at Manchester United and has also been offered a new contract from the European giants. That new offer was warranted following an impressive loan spell at Barnsley last season.

He scored 9 goals for the League One side who were subsequently promoted via the lottery that is the play offs - beating Millwall at Wembley in the final.

Despite a contract offer from Manchester United, Fletcher is believed to be weighing up his options and Leeds could certainly be on that list of options.

The striker would be a good signing for Leeds who could do with an injection of pace and energy into their attacking line up.

Alfie Mawson

Leeds are also believed to be interested in Barnsley's Alfie Mawson - who has also attracted interest from Bristol City.

The 22-year-old was pivotal to Barnsley's success last season at the heart of the defence. He scored 6 times for the promotion winning club in a total of 45 league appearances. Like Fletcher, he is still relatively young and looks to be a hot prospect for the future.

As a result, the central defender would be a very good signing for Monk's side who could certainly do with the addition of one or two more defensive options.

The only issue for this one would be a transfer fee as Barnsley value to defender very highly and could be a case as to whether Leeds are willing to pay a premium for him.

Sebastian Larsson

larsson

One move that could interest Garry Monk is one towards Swedish midfielder, Sebastian Larsson.

The Sunderland midfielder is believed to be surplus to requirements at the club as Sam Allardyce seems to be looking elsewhere to plan for the 2016/17 Premier League season.

However, the Swede is one of Sunderland's most creative players and would prove of great value to Leeds in the Championship.

His 154 appearances for the Black Cats since 2011 show how much of an asset the winger is and a move from Leeds to sign him could prove valuable.

Currently at EURO 2016 with Sweden, Larsson is not expected to make a decision on future until he returns to England. But, Garry Monk should definitely submit interest in the player.

Liam Bridcutt

After spending the entirety of last season on loan at the Leeds, Bridcutt was an almost a certain permanent signing for the club.

However, with Steve Evans sacked, there proved to be a stumbling block in the deal but the arrival of Garry Monk could well change that situation.

Nevertheless, talks are said to be underway again and the chances of the midfielder joining from Sunderland are widening.

He could certainly succeed for Leeds if he is to sign for the club. He boasts a wide range of attributes that would be very valuable in the Championship as well as good experience of football at the very top level.

Modou Barrow

barrow

The exciting winger was previously part of Garry Monk's squad at Swansea City until Monk's sacking in the back end of 2015.

23 year-old, Barrow, is yet to really spark on the scene at the Liberty Stadium and instead spent time out on loan with Blackburn Rovers earlier this year. The Gambian endured a tough time at the Championship side where he only totted up a number of 4 appearances.

Despite previous misfortune, he would certainly be a good signing for Leeds.

He holds both pace and trickery and could prove very hard for defences in the Championship to deal with. Thus, Monk could look towards his old club for the signing of Modou Barrow.
