Leeds United have endured a difficult season thus far due to the turbulent leadership of chairman Massimo Cellino, which has seen them struggle this season.

Uwe Rosler was the manager of Leeds at the start of the season, and after a difficult start he was sacked and replaced with former Rotherham manager Steve Evans.

Evans has been steadily rebuilding the squad, slowly welcoming back Sam Byram and Alex Mowatt to the first team squad, as they were forgotten men under Rosler.

They have slowly started to pick up results like their 1-0 win over Cardiff which was the club's first home win in seven months, and also an impressive 3-0 away win at local rivals Huddersfield, but their inconsistency is still their achilles heel as Leeds' disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Rotherham showed.

Evans will want to strengthen the squad in January, and if relatively recent speculation is to be believed then talented Hibernian striker Jason Cummings could be on his way to Leeds to bolster their attacking options......

Here are FIVE players that could follow Cummings to Elland Road in the January transfer window......

Lewis Grabban

Leeds were chasing the player during the emergency loan window, but the Norwich outcast was unwilling to relocate to Leeds and the move never happened.

But Leeds are clearly keen on bolstering their attacking options, and Grabban who has struggled for first team football at Carrow Road, is a proven Championship goalscorer and scored 20 plus goals for Bournemouth a few seasons ago.

Grabban's future at Norwich appears to be non-existent and Norwich will be keen on getting him off the books, and Leeds may save him from his difficult spell at Norwich.

Kike

Middlesbrough's Spanish striker was also a target for Leeds during the emergency loan window, but Karanka wasn't keen on letting him go at the last minute.

Kike has failed to impress at the Riverside and has been behind fellow Middlesbrough strikers Nugent and Stuani, and Middlesbrough are keen on adding to their attacking options in January, with the loan signing of Patrick Bamford.

This would place Kike even further down the pecking order, and Leeds will be keen on a striker who does show glimpses of quality.

Danny Graham

The Sunderland striker does not seem to have a future at the Stadium of Light, and will look for a move away in January.

Graham has not been given many first team chances and has been limited to loan moves to the Championship, with a fairly successful spell at Middlesbrough.

Graham is a proven Championship striker and was the top goalscorer in the Championship a few seasons ago with Watford.

With Sunderland wanting to get rid of him, he wouldn't cost much and Leeds would surely be keen.

Nick Powell

Nick Powell

The talented Manchester United midfielder has been an outcast at Old Trafford and his career is currently in repute.

Since arriving from Crewe a few years ago, he has been given very few opportunities in the first team, but did have a very successful loan spell at Wigan a few season ago, which shows he is up to Championship standard.

United will be keen on getting Powell some first team football as will the player himself, so the move suits all parties.

Kyle Lafferty

The Norwich striker was another player desperately sought after by Leeds in the emergency loan window but the move fell through, so Leeds may try again in January.

The Northern Ireland striker has failed to make any first team appearances in the Premier League at Carrow Road this season, despite his impressive form for the national side which has seen them qualify for this summer's Euros.

The beanpole striker will surely attract plenty of interest from the Championship ,and Leeds will no doubt be one of the interested suitors.
