West Ham United have had an impressive start under boss Slaven Bilic, as they sit 8th in the Premier League after 14 games.

The Hammers have recorded astonishing wins over Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool away from home, whilst they have also beaten Chelsea at Upton Park.

Ahead of their move to The Olympic Stadium in Stratford next season, West Ham will be looking to qualify for the Europa League.

A key to this may be recruiting well in the January transfer window - and in order to do so, West Ham may need to offload a few players, whether that be on loan or on a permanent basis.

A loan move for some of West Ham's younger players could aid their development, whilst permanent moves away from Upton Park for some of their fringe players could free up funds for Slaven Bilic - and the Championship is often a perfect destination for players of this sort.

So, here's FIVE players that West Ham need to offload to  the Championship in January.....

Joey O'Brien

o'brien5

O'Brien is yet to feature under Slaven Bilic, and it looks inevitable he will leave the club sooner rather than later.

The 29-year-old defender would be a shrewd signing for any Championship club, as he can play anywhere in a back four.

O'Brien will be available for a fairly low price, which may tempt clubs from England's second tier.

His Premier League and Football League experience would be incredibly beneficial for any Championship club, so it would be no surprise to see the defender playing in the second tier as of January.

Josh Cullen

Cullen is an energetic central midfielder who is looking for first team football.

Only 19 years of age, Cullen needs first team football in order to help him to develop into a player for the Hammers first team.

Cullen has already made his Premier League debut for West Ham, having come on as a subsitute against Liverpool in August.

James Collins

James Collins is an experienced central defender that would be a quality signing for any Championship club looking to tighten up their defence.

The 32-year-old has made over 100 appearances for West Ham in two spells at the club, but finds himself behind James Tomkins, Winston Reid and Angelo Ogbonna at Upton Park.

It would make sense for the Welshman to depart Upton Park and join a Championship club - his experience would prove valuable to virtually every Championship outfit.

Michail Antonio

antoniooooo

Antonio has had a disappointing start to life at West Ham since his multi-million pound move from Nottingham Forest in the Summer.

The pacy winger has only made two appearances at Upton Park so far this season, and may seek a move back to the Championship on loan to get some first team football.

It is clear that Antonio is a top quality Championship player, with 15 goals for Nottingham Forest last season displaying this.

Reece Oxford

oxfordddd

Reece Oxford burst onto the scene on the first day of this season, as he put in a mature and quality performance against Arsenal in West Ham's 2-0 win at The Emirates.

Although Oxford played in a holding midfield role that game, he is naturally a centre half.

Understandably, Oxford hasn't made too many first team appearances for West Ham this season, but a loan move to the Championship could offer him this chance.
