Garry Monk's Birmingham City are on an excellent run of form this season - but the Championship table doesn't do his side's good form any justice.

Birmingham are currently on a run of eight matches without defeat, a run that stretches all the way back into August when his side were defeated 1-0 against Bolton Wanderers.

They have since ended their winless run at St Andrews and Monk and his side will be keen to build on this good run of form when Birmingham travel to Stoke City at the weekend- in what will prove to be a tough ask for three points.

Monk's team have only been defeated twice this season, but have also only won two matches in their league campaign this year which will be concerning reading for Blues fans.

But could the former Leeds manager benefit from some additions to his squad in January?

Find out who we think they should target when the transfer window opens in the new year here....

The former Stoke and Reading goalkeeper has struggled for game time in recent years at Bournemouth. Since leaving Reading and has made just 19 appearances since 2015.

Federici is proven in the Championship, having made 253 appearances for the Royals, and most notably he has one goal to his name, smashing in late on against Cardiff City.

The Wigan full-back made 51 appearances for Wigan last season as they were promoted to the Championship last season, but he has had difficulty in maintaining his place in the Starting XI with the Latics.

Byrne has featured just twice this season, with only one of those being a start against QPR, in which Wigan lost 1-0.

The 26-year-old could certainly challenge Maxime Colin for a starting spot if he is to recapture the form he has shown in Wigan's promotion winning season last year.

Myhill is currently second choice at West Brom, behind first-choice keeper Ben Foster who has been in excellent form this season.

The Welshman could replace Lee Camp who hasn't had the impact he would have hoped for this season, since arriving from Sunderland.

The veteran midfielder was the creative spark in the Norwich City side for many years but has since moved to second placed West Brom.

He has only made 3 appearances, with all of them being from the substitutes bench, so Hoolahan will be hoping to get more regular game time at the age of 36 and Birmingham could be the club for him.

The Newcastle central midfielder has only made two appearances in the Premier League this season, and was sent off in his first game in the side against Cardiff City.

It could be a possibility that Birmingham make a move for Hayden, as he will be after regular game time, which he currently isn't getting at Newcastle.
