Cardiff City have had a good start to the Sky Bet Championship season, having accumulated 26 points from their opening 18 games.

The Bluebirds are currently in tenth position, two points off of the play-offs, following a 2-2 with high-flying Burnley at the Cardiff City Stadium yesterday.

With only four defeats in these opening 18 matches, manager Russell Slade has made his Bluebirds side tough to beat, although they will have to start transferring draws, of which they have eight, into victories if they are to achieve a top-six finish come May.

This means that they need to find that extra bit of quality and, in order to accumulate the funds to sign players to help them gain promotion, there are certain players that Cardiff must cash in on.

Adam Le Fondre

Adam Le Fondre, 28, is currently out on loan at Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He signed from Reading for an undisclosed fee at the end of the 2013/2014 season, after winning the Championship with the Royals in 2011/12.

Le Fondre never really hit the ground running at Cardiff, so it might be time for the Bluebirds to cut their losses and invest for the future.

He's only appeared 25 times for Cardiff since moving in May 2014, and netted just three goals in that time.

Cardiff already have Kenwyne Jones, Joe Mason and Federico Macheda available as strikers.

Alex Revell

Alex Revell, 32, has scored only three goals in 28 games for the Bluebirds this season combined with the last.

In a career spanning fifteen years, Revell has played for ten different clubs - he's never really settled down anywhere. He's currently out on loan at League One side Wigan Athletic to get some much-needed first team football.

Revell signed for £175,000 and, already at the age of 32, his price is unlikely to rise.

It's time for Cardiff to cut down on the surplus strikers at the club, and send Revell on to his eleventh club.

Stuart O'Keefe

Stuart O'Keefe, 24, spent the majority of his career at Crystal Palace, making over thirty appearances there over a five-year period.

However, since joining Cardiff in January 2015, he has only ever appeared ten times for the club, six of which were from the bench.

At just 24, Cardiff could make quite a healthy sale as O'Keefe has another decade left in him.

Cardiff are good for midfield cover, as they have players such as Peter Whittingham, Joe Ralls, Craig Noone and Anthony Pilkington.

Gabriel Tamas

Gabriel Tamas, 32, is an experienced centre-back, who has previously appeared for West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

However, known to cause unrest in the dressing room, Tamas has played for fifteen different clubs across a seventeen year period.

In the last year, Tamas has been at three different clubs. His contract was terminated at CFR Cluj after causing a fight in a local pub. At Romanian side Steaua Bucuresti, Tamas' contract was terminated after two months for repeatedly missing training sessions, instead opting to go out drinking with mates.

Tamas is yet to make an appearance for Cardiff City, despite having over sixty international caps for Romania.

Definitely not liked by the fans, surely Cardiff can't afford someone like him in the ranks, who could potentially cause disharmony during such an important season for the club.

Declan John

Declan John, 20, is a Welsh centre-back who has struggled at Cardiff ever since he joined.

Currently on loan at Barnsley, John has failed to nail down a starting position.

With more experienced defensive players available, John is no longer needed at Cardiff and, because of his age, potential ability and the fact that he is home-grown, Cardiff could easily find a club which would be willing to pay a good fee for him.
