Leeds United currently sit 13th in the Sky Bet Championship and have a lot of work to do this January if they are to make the top six.

Steve Evans will be looking to bring in some players of real quality to allow Leeds to challenge the best in the division.

Leeds are unbeaten in six but three of those have been draws, with the right signings, Evans could really take the team further and push on in the second half of the season.

A number of teams are currently trying to sign some of Leeds' best performers this season and if Evans cannot hold on to every player, then he must ensure that he brings in the right players.

Bellusci is a target for a number of Italian sides while Sam Byram is being allowed to leave due to high interest from Premier League sides

Benik Afobe

With Leeds' main striker Chris Wood struggling with injury in the past few matches, Leeds have had struggle scoring enough to win games.

Souleymane Doukara and Mirko Anetuncci have struggled in front of goal this season and United are in desperate need of a striker.

Benik Afobe has been the focus of a lot of transfer speculation but Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has said that he has not received any official bids for the striker.

He is fast, direct and has 10 goals this season in all competitions. Leeds often play a high-pressing game and Afobe would fit right into the side which has amassed 13 goals between its three strikers this season.

Ryan Shotton

The Derby County defender has not played much at all this season, after being a big part of their defence last year.

His appearances have only come from the bench and while Derby will want to keep him as a back-up centre half, Steve Evans could really sign a good and experienced Championship defender to add to an already solid back-line.

If Bellusci leaves as well this would be a good replacement for the 26- year-old as due to his experience he would instantly slot into the side.

Kyle Lafferty

Steve Evans has already been trying to sign the Norwich striker, and the Northern Ireland international would be a good signing for Leeds.

His career at Norwich has not really gone to plan following his move from Palermo two years ago, and a move down to the Championship could reignite the striker's career.

With Norwich performing at a steady level in the Premier League, there is not much Lafferty will be able to do to convince his manager of a starting berth.

The experienced striker has played in a number of leagues and would not find it difficult to adjust to the Championship.

Damien McCrory

The Burton Albion full-back has been one of the best performers in League One this season.

He is one of the reasons Albion have only conceded 19 goals in the whole campaign thus far.

He has been linked in a move to the Championship to reunite with former Burton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at QPR, but he would be a great addition for Leeds if he makes the step up to the Championship.

With right-back and winger Sam Byram potentially on his way out, Damien could challenge for a position at full-back despite Charlie Taylor's good form for United this season.

If Evans wanted to look to League One for a defender who is definitely good enough to make the step up to the Championship then McCrory would be a good candidate.

Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe

The Norwich City midfielder has already had a spell in the Championship this season with South Yorkshire side Rotherham United, where he impressed on a month long loan.

He is slowly beginning to come into Norwich's first team plans, with a few games on the bench and an assist in the game against Southampton, but if Steve Evans could bring him back to the Championship with Leeds, he would surely aid greatly in their bid for the play-offs.

He is versatile and can play in multiple positions with appearances on the wing and in midfield this season.

The Belgian is a man who is waiting for a run of games to really show his true potential, and if he comes to Leeds United then he could no doubt succeed there for seasons to come; at the age of 26 he will soon be coming into the prime of his career.
