Hull City are on track to bounce straight back to the Premier League as they sit in fourth place in the Championship, and look a safe bet for a play-off place at the end of the campaign.

Despite their recent slump in form, they had won five consecutive games and looked an unstoppable side.

Very rarely do relegated sides look stable when they drop down a division, and with the board having a rift with the fans deciding whether to change the club's name - Hull fans might have been a bit nervy coming into the Championship.

However, the Hull players have ignored what is going on off the pitch and are proving to show why they are one of the favourites for promotion.

Steve Bruce has managed to keep the spine of the team together in the summer transfer window as many of their stars such as Alan McGregor, Mohammed Diame and Abel Hernandez were expected to leave.

The club will need to keep their key players, but that could be out of their hands if a substantial offer comes in for a player.

The goalkeeper has been Hull City's designated cup keeper after starting five games in the Capital One Cup.

He has shown what he can do at the club after inspiring a penalty shoot-out victory away to Accrington Stanley in the first round, and clean-sheets followed for the 31-year-old, in the victories over Rochdale and Swansea City.

Another key contribution came in the fourth round win at home to Leicester City, when he decisively saved Riyad Mahrez's spot-kick and he started in their loss to Manchester City.

Their loss to Manchester City was the goalkeeper's 17th start for the club since becoming Steve Bruce's first signing as City boss in July 2012, but there will be no doubt in keeping faith in Allan McGregor's long-serving understudy.

The second choice goalkeeper is expected to be unhappy at starting so few games, and could look to force a way out of the club.

Greg Luer

Could Greg Luer be on the move this month?

There has been a pressing concern of the young rookie striker, Greg Luer. City have debated sending the 20-year-old out on loan to gain first-team experience.

Luer has been on the mark for the Tigers' under-21's, scoring five goals in six outings for Tony Pennock's side, and has featured on the bench in Hull’s first team in the last few weeks.

The Hull City attacking department is pretty full with talent, with the likes of Abel Hernandez and Chuba Akpom way ahead of Luer in the pecking order.

Ryan Taylor

Hull City signed Ryan Taylor for a free transfer in the summer and he has mainly featured for them in the Capital One Cup.

The former Newcastle man has found it difficult to get into Hull’s talented side and would benefit from leaving the club, to gain first team football.

Taylor has 10 years of top-flight experience and has worked with Bruce before at Wigan Athletic.

The 30-year-old will prove a bargain for any smaller football club looking for experience in their side.

Curtis Davies

Premier League side, Bournemouth are plotting a move for the Hull City defender, as they will need to bolster their defensive options in their bid to survive in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old is one of Eddie Howe’s main transfer targets and feel that the former Aston Villa and Birmingham City defender would help Bournemouth’s terrible clean sheet record in the Premier League.

Hull value their central defender at £3 million, despite the fact that his contract runs out at the end of the season.

Tom Huddlestone

The former Tottenham ace will no doubt be keen to return to the Premier League, as he his slowly reaching the latter stages of his playing career – so he’ll be keen to finish in the highest league possible.

The midfielder was also once an England international and his chances of returning to the international stage, while playing in the Championship are slim.

He definitely has the potential to attract multiple clubs from the top-flight for his services.

He has made 18 appearances this season for the Tigers, scoring just a single goal and would make a great asset for a Premier League side.
