With news emerging today that Ross McCormack could be on his way to Aston Villa in a £12m move, it begs the question of just who can Fulham go and sign to replace one of the Championships best goalscorers?

The Scottish international is one of the most consistent and best performers in the Championship. The loss of both him and Moussa Dembele to Celtic could be a bitter blow to the Cottagers, who just survived last season, largely in part to those two players.

While many will be distraught at the outgoings, it does in fact at least give Fulham and their manager Slavisa Jokanovic a healthy chunk of money to spend going into the last few weeks of the summer.

With this in mind, FLW writer Lee Connor has taken a look at FIVE players who Fulham could look to bring in using the funds from the sale of Ross McCormack...

Matej Vydra

The pacey striker played under Jokanovic when both at Watford, and he might well be keen to rekindle that relationship this season.

Vydra had a poor campaign by his own standards at Reading last season, but there is no doubting his quality at all.

Vydra is proven at this level, and just needs to regain some form and confidence. He could well be an excellent acquisition for the Cottagers.

Bradley Dack

The in demand Gillingham midfielder has yet to secure a move away, and this could well leave the door open for Fulham to put a firm offer on the table for Dack.

Dack was voted the player of the year in League One last term, as Gillingham had a good season where they just missed out on the playoffs after a storming start.

He won't come cheap, but he would definitely be an excellent signing for the Cottagers and Jokanovic.

Anthony Knockaert

This would be an expensive signing, but with £12m coming in for McCormack, Fulham can easily afford it.

Brighton would be reluctant to sell the tricky wideman, but if Fulham could pull off a deal and convince him to move to Craven Cottage, they would have some player on their hands.

Knockaert is capable of winning a game on his own and would go a long way to replacing the creativity which will be missing following the loss of McCormack.

Nouha Dicko

dickoooo

The Wolves striker is set to return from a long injury lay off and is a player who most definitely knows where the back of the net is.

Dicko is likely to find his place in the Wolves team under threat now that the new owners are in place and splashing the cash, and he himself might welcome a move away.

A pacey frontman who is capable of turning a game on its head, he would go a long way to replacing the goals lost from the sales of Dembele and McCormack.

Mame Biram Diouf

fulhammm

Another powerful and pacey striker, Diouf has not quite cut the mustard thus far for Stoke City in the Premier League, and could well relish a season or two in the Championship.

Diouf has undoubted class, and would surely score goals at Championship level given the chance.

He is likely to be out of favour at the Britannia this season, and Fulham would be wise to test the resolve of the Potters by submitting a bid for the former Manchester United man.

Fulham fans, what do you think? Would you take any of these? How gutted are you about McCormack? Let us know in the comments!
