Paul Clement's Derby County have their eyes on the promotion to the Premier League, after an impressive first-half of the season.

Having spent a lot of money during the summer, the Rams were the favourites with many for promotion, and so far they are set to prove those right.

Although Clement's side currently sit in second place, he will know that the job is far from done, with stiff competition from the likes of Brighton, Hull and Burnley.

The January window therefore could be a crucial period as County look to strengthen their side, and enhance their chances of promotion to the Premier League.

Having already brought in Nick Blackman from Reading and Abdoul Camara from Angers, this article will analyse who else Clement could be interested in bringing to the iPro Stadium this month.

Patrick Bamford

Although Blackman has already signed this month, that doesn't necessarily mean Derby won't continue to look at strengthening their attacking options.

This is especially the case if a player with the quality Bamford possesses potentially becomes available.

Voted Championship Player of the Year last season, the young striker looks set for another loan move, and the Rams may look to pounce.

With the stuttering form of Darren Bent and the reliance on Chris Martin, Bamford would add real quality to the striking options that would be too good to say no.

Callum O'Dowda

The Rams have been linked with the young Irishman already this window, and it is easy to see why.

O'Dowda has been an integral member of an Oxford United side going well in League Two at present.

He has plenty of admirers at Championship and Premier League level, so Clement may try to make his move before he potentially loses out to a rival.

The young wide-man came on in Oxford United's shock win over Swansea City at the Kassam Stadium on Sunday, and impressed with his energy and dynamism.

Alan Judge

Clement has claimed otherwise, but Derby may be tempted to make one last big-money signing for the season this month.

If they do, Judge may very well be the man.

He has had an outstanding season so far for Brentford, establishing himself as one of the best players outside of the Premier League.

With 10 goals and 7 assists, Judge would provide even more quality to an already formidable Derby midfield.

Jack Grealish

If a deal for Judge is not possible, Clement may still consider a loan move for Jack Grealish.

Wingers are not essential for Derby at present, but if Grealish becomes available he may be too good to turn down.

The winger looked set for an important role for Aston Villa in their Premier League campaign, but this has not really materialised after falling out with manager Remi Garde.

Although his attitude may be questionable, his ability is not, so Clement may be tempted to take a punt with a loan deal.

Darron Gibson

The Irish midfielder has reportedly been made available for loan by Everton boss Roberto Martinez, so could provide real experience for the Rams as they enter the important phase of the season.

The former Manchester United man had pedigree beyond Championship level too, whilst a loan move would help boost the player's chances of an important role during Ireland's Euro 2016 campaign this summer.

His Premier League experience could prove vital for Derby County, and he could be exactly what the Rams need to get them over the line.
