Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea have a talented squad of players despite their struggles in the league this season.

The Blues have a large number of players on the fringes of their squad who arent regularly playing and perhaps should be.

Manager Jose Mourinho may want to trim his wage bill slightly by offloading some players, who arent regularly playing, and sending them down to the Championship.

Chelsea have some talented players who aren't likely to play for the first team who could maybe move down to the Championship to ignite their careers.

Here are FIVE players Chelsea need to offload to the Championship.......

Lucas Piazon

Although Piazon is spending the season at Steve Clarke's Reading, Chelsea may decide to cash in on the Brazilian winger who is unlikely to break into the Chelsea side anytime soon.

Of course this would depend on whether Reading would want to pay for the Brazilian who is having some problems of the field of late, but there would surely be a number of other second tier teams keen on his signature.

There is no doubt Piazon is a talented player particularly at Championship level.

Kenneth Omeruo

Kenneth Omeruo

Omeruo does have some experience of the Championship after a loan spell with Middlesbrough last season where he made over 30 appearances.

The defender is on loan at Turkish club Kasimpasa this season and is one of the many forgotten loans that Chelsea have.

The Nigerian has yet to play for Chelsea's first team and he may be somebody they look to offload to a Championship club, as he doesn't look set to break into the first-team under Jose Mourinho.

Patrick Bamford

Bamford is on loan at Palace this season but the talented striker hasn't really featured much for the Eagles this season.

He spent all of last season at Middlesbrough where he scored 17 league goals for the club, and was the Championship player of the season.

After struggling to adapt to the Premier League, the 22-year-old who is still learning, may be moved back down to the Championship in January when his loan with the Eagles expires.

Tomas Kalas

Kalas is another player who has played in the Championship with Middlesbrough last season and is on loan at the club again for this season.

The attacking full-back has impressed while on loan at the club and they should look at making his move permanent in the January window.

He has made two appearances for Chelsea but numerous loans suggest he isn't likely to make the cut into the first-team, so he should be somebody they look to offload to the Championship.

Papy Djilobodji

The 27-year-old was a strange signing for Chelsea in the summer.

The Senegal International may be offloaded in the January window to the Championship despite only joining in the summer, as it seems unlikely he will get any game time at Chelsea.

He would be a very good addition for a number of Championship teams and Chelsea should cut their losses and sell him.
