Charlton will be rejuvenated by their surprise 2-0 win over Middlesbrough on the weekend, and this result has put Jose Riga's side back on course for survival, after a shocking run of form left them battling with Rotherham and Bolton in a race to beat the drop into League One.

This season has been an unhappy one on and off the pitch for the Addicks, with mass protests over owner Roland Duchatelet becoming a regular feature at both home and away games.

If there is one thing that Charlton fans can smile about then it is certainly the fine production line of young talent coming through the ranks currently at Valley Parade.

Striker Ademola Lookman has attracted attention from England's elite, whilst Regan Charles-Cook and Tareiq Holmes-Dennis have given the fans something to shout about.

Here are FIVE players that Charlton must hang on to in this summer transfer window........

Ademola Lookman

The young striker coped excellently with the weight of being the number 1 choice up top for the Addicks this season, and whilst his goal tally is modest, this can be expected considering he is playing in a side completely devoid of confidence.

With the Premier League big boys sniffing around, it is going to take a lot to keep hold of him past the summer, but if they can, then it might just be the best bit of business they will do.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson

The Icelandic midfielder comes with pace, versatility, and a great eye for a pass, having racked up 10 assists this season, which is more than any player in the division.

This would be an impressive stat for a player playing in a team top of the league, so it is even more staggering when you consider that this is for a team sitting 23rd in the Championship table.

There will undoubtedly be interest in the summer, and whether he stays could be crucial to Charlton's success.

Jordan Cousins

The midfielder was the man of the match in the 2-0 win over high-flying Boro, and put in an admirable performance, bombing forward at every opportunity, and getting back well to prevent Boro counter attacks.

These are the kind of performances he will need to put in more regularly if Charlton are to stay up, and if they can keep hold of him at the end of the season, they will stand a great chance going into the next.

Callum Harriott

Another young striker who has impressed this season, Harriott provides yet another injection of pace and determination to the Charlton attack.

His goal on Sunday helped Charlton to a crucial three points, and he is another player who could really help Charlton stay up, should he sustain his recent form.

Whether they will keep hold of him in the summer remains to be seen, but if they can, then they wont do their chances any harm.

Nick Pope

The young keeper spent last season out impressing at Bury, where he won promotion to League One with the Shakers.

He has transferred this form into the Championship, and has done brilliantly filling in for the first team.

His outstanding save against Boro epitomised how crucial he is to Charlton at the moment, and if they can keep him past the summer, he could become a great long term keeper for them.
