Following the takeover of the club and the injection of millions of pounds into the club's transfer kitty, optimism around Molineux is starting to flow.

Wolves kicked off their campaign with a 2-2 draw away from home against Rotherham United and after falling 2-0 down in the first half an hour they had to fight there way back into the game, and managed to do so despite going down to 10 men with the score sitting at 2-1 to The Millers.

Walter Zenga's side then comfortably defeated Jaap Stam's Reading on Saturday at Molineux, in what was a commanding performance from the Midlands outfit.

Patrick Bamford

One player who should be on Wolves' radar is 22 year old Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford.

With first team opportunities likely to be extremely difficult to come by at Stamford Bridge, there is every chance that Wolves could tempt Bamford into a permanent switch to Molineux.

Bamford had a disappointing campaign last time out where he had loan spells with Premier League clubs Norwich and Crystal Palace, he failed to break into the first team at either club and became very frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities he was given, so he may well look for a return to the Championship this season to get the game time he craves.

The season before last, Bamford enjoyed a fabulous loan spell at Championship side Middlesborough where he proved to everyone that he knows where the goal is.

In 43 appearances for The Boro he scored 19 goals, the form he showed in that campaign led to him being awarded the prestigious Football League Championship Player of the Year award for the 2014-2015 season.

Peter Crouch

Over the past few weeks, there has been numerous rumours circulating linking Peter Crouch with a move down to the Championship, after he found first team opportunities few and far between last season at Stoke City, and one club who has been linked with a move for the big man is Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 35-year-old managed just 11 Premier League appearances last season and he's entering the final few years of his career.

Dimi Konstantopoulos

After the signings of Victor Valdes and Brad Guzan, it appears that Dimi Konstantopoulos will be on his way out of newly promoted Premier League side Middlesborough, after being deemed surplus to requirements.

The 37-year-old is a highly experienced goalkeeper who appeared 46 times for Boro last season in their promotion winning campaign, and could be a shrewd signing by Wolves to compete with Carl Ikeme for the number 1 shirt.

Bakary Sako

Over recent weeks there has been rumours emerging that Wolves are keen to re-sign former Winger Bakary Sako, although with speculation over Yannick Bolasie's future Crystal Palace may be keen to keep hold of the Mali international.

Sako enjoyed three successful years with Wolves from 2012-2015 before making the move to Selhurst Park, throughout his time at Molineux, he made 124 appearances for the club scoring 38 goals in that time.

He became a huge fans favourite and they were saddened to see him leave, so naturally the news that he may re-sign for the club has created huge excitement amongst the fans and they are impatiently waiting on news regarding the 28-year-old.

Last season Sako made 23 appearances for Crystal Palace, scoring 2 goals in that time.
