Manchester United have one of the best youth academies in the country regularly developing youngsters through the loan system to get them first team football and then integrating them steadily into the first team.

They have done this for a number of youngsters including breakthrough youngster Marcus Rashford, who broke into the first team at Old Trafford scoring crucial goals against Manchester City and Arsenal. This has led to him breaking into the England team with him being named in the final squad for the Euros this summer.

Other youngsters profiting from this are Jesse Lingard and Cameron Borthwick Jackson who have become first team regulars this season with the former scoring the winner in the FA Cup final.

The academy is buzzing with talent and in the past United have used Championship clubs to send their youngsters to in order to gain game time, with the loan move of James Wilson to Brighton being a prime example.

Leeds are one of the biggest sides in the Championship with an array of young talent themselves such as Alex Mowatt, Charlie Taylor and Lewis Cook who are all attracting strong Premier League interest plus Sam Byram who was sold to West Ham in the summer.

Owner Massimo Cellino has appointed former Swansea manager Garry Monk who was controversially dismissed earlier in the season, as his new manager. His first aim will be to strengthen the team which showed weakness and lack of depth in defence and attack due to regular injuries to top scorer Chris Wood. Monk may isolate the loan market and here are 5 Manchester United wonder kids Monk could sign for Leeds.

James Wilson

James Wilson

A player on the lips of managers across the country , James Wilson is wanted by many clubs in the Championship.

The 20 year old has already made his debut for United and scored his first senior goals against Hull and QPR the following season. But with the signing of Martial and the emergence of  Marcus Rashford, Wilson was not getting enough first team football at Old Trafford and was loaned out to Championship high flyers Brighton.

He managed 5 goals in 24 games including a crucial late equalizer against Derby but ultimately Brighton missed out on promotion and were then beaten by Sheffield Wednesday in the playoffs. With some more football he could score for fun at this level and the interest should be there from Leeds who need more striker depth.

Nick Powell

The 22 year old promised a lot when he moved from Crewe a couple of years ago and achieved his dream move to United after scoring a pair of stunning goals in a playoff final win over Cheltenham.

However he has struggled for first team football since arriving despite playing plenty of times for the youth side, where looks a class above that level.

He had a successful loan move to Wigan a few years back but was unable to capitalize on this going on to fail in loan moves too Leicester and Hull. The coaches at United claim he needs more first team football as he is too good for the youth team and Leeds could do with some extra creativity.

Will Keane

Will-Keane

The young England striker is 23 year now and has had plenty of experience of being loaned out to the Championship.

The striker has made 3 career appearances for United whilst going out on loan spells with Wigan, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston, but at all those clubs he struggled to get first team football and rarely scored.

He has represented England at every youth level so is very experienced for his age and given a prolonged run of first team football could score plenty for Leeds utilising his good movement and finishing, with his height giving him an added aerial threat.

Tyler Blackett

The 22 year old defender is another youngster with plenty of international experience currently representing the U21 side.

The season before last he was given a run in the United side making 11 appearances and seemed reasonably impressive apart from an own goal against Arsenal. But he was sent out on loan this season to Celtic and has had loan spells at Blackpool and Blackburn in the past.

Celtic did not give him a lot of game time but Leeds are crying out for some defensive cover and may lose Bellusci to Sampdoria, so Blackett would be a welcome addition on loan or a permanent deal.

Andreas Pereira

Andreas Pereira

The young Belgian winger is only 20 years old and is representing Belgium at every youth level and looks very impressive when playing for the United youngsters.

Pereira has not featured much for United but started all their Capital One Cup games this season and was their star performer every time, scoring against Ipswich.

They were disappointingly beaten by Middlesbrough but Pereira stood out for United being the only one to dispatch a penalty in the shootout. Pereira is very fast and has good trickery making him a handful for any Championship defence, and will provide striker Chris Wood with better service than what he is getting currently.
