With Leeds languishing in 15th position in the Championship table, attentions will surely turn towards next season now. That seems to be the story at this stage of the campaign on almost an annual basis, which is clearly the source of frustration for Whites fans up and down the country.

While it's hard to predict the transfer dealings of a club under the erratic ownership of Massimo Cellino, we can at least look at what Leeds do need and who they should be looking at signing.

Whomever they do end up drafting in may be an entirely different kettle of fish. Such is the nature of life under the controversial Italian.

However, with the club unlikely to spend an awful lot, perhaps manager Steve Evans should look to dip into the loan market in an effort to improve his fortunes on the pitch. That is, if he's still in charge by then.

Over the course of the January window they landed Sunderland ace Liam Bridcutt on a temporary deal and the Scottish international has largely impressed within the engine room, proving the value of the market.

Perhaps a look to the Premier League in order to borrow some talented youngsters could provide the sort of quality needed to spark a serious promotion push for the first time in years.

For top tier clubs too, farming some burgeoning talent out to a huge club like Leeds could certainly prove beneficial in the long run.

Take Liverpool for example, who have seen the likes of Jordon Ibe flourish while on loan in the Championship. With major changes expected at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp begins to stamp his authority, perhaps there's some wiggle room for some astute loan signings to nab from the Merseyside giants.

Jordan Rossiter

Rossiter

Jordan Rossiter has actually been with the first-team on a fairly regular basis considering he has just one league outing to his name.

The England under-21 international is a hugely promising central midfield presence, with a combative authority that is comparable to Steven Gerrard at a similar age.

He's tireless without the ball, battling hard to win possession before surging forward with aplomb and picking out a pass with a vision far beyond his years.

Perhaps not quite ready to the hustle and bustle of the Premier League, a short stint at Elland Road would do wonders for him.

As well as the Whites, who's own engine room has often been bypassed entirely for matches at a time.

Kevin Stewart

Kevin Stewart

Though he started against Stoke City on the weekend, and was excellent to his credit, it would be foolish to completely write off the chances of seeing Kevin Stewart loan to a Championship outfit this summer.

If he is - Leeds United should make sure they are first in line.

He was composed on the ball against the Potters, shielding the backline with an authority not often seen in a player just 22 years of age.

A loan spell at Swindon was cut short earlier this season, and while he no doubt impressed during his first ever league star, perhaps Klopp would be wise to give him an extended run at Elland Road to see how he deals with the Championship.

The Whites really could do with a man who puts himself about a bit.

Connor Randall

Connor Randall

A thoroughly modern full-back, Connor Randall would be a lively addition to Evans' backline and alleviate some of the problems so prevalent when Scott Wootton was forced into the right-back role due to injury.

The 20-year old is exceptionally gifted when running with the ball down the flank, and while he doesn't boast the most imposing frame, is physically strong enough to deal with the demands of the Championship.

Certainly one to get the fans excited with his marauding runs up and down the flanks.

Tiago Ilori

Ilori

Despite flopping at Aston Villa - even by their standards, which takes some doing - Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori would represent a decent signing at Championship level.

Paired next to skipper Sol Bamba, the 23-year old could be the perfect foil in central defence. While he's not a powerhouse, his ability to bring the ball out and start attacks from deep could see some enjoyment brought back to Elland Road for the first time in years.

Danny Ward

Danny Ward

Current Leeds stopper Marco Silvestri has attracted criticism recently, and truth be told, never really looks as commanding as you'd like between the sticks.

In stark contrast to the Italian, young Reds custodian Danny Ward was hugely impressive on loan at Aberdeen this season - keeping a whopping 13 clean sheets north of the border.

While the Reds obviously rate the Welshman highly enough to recall him from the Dons, should they land a top 'keeper in the summer, there could be a chance for the Whites to borrow the 23-year on a short-term deal.

If possible, that certainly is an avenue they should look down.
