Leeds United have had a difficult season by all accounts so far, mainly due to their off the pitch issues with owner Massimo Cellino.

Cellino is running Leeds like a circus and many Leeds fans want him to go, and it seemed earlier this month that a deal wasn't far away from making that happen.

But the deal fell through when Cellino's lawyers told the bidders, Leeds Fans United, that he was no longer prepared to sell a controlling stake in Leeds to the group.

Leeds have also endured a miserable season on the pitch as well, a miserable run of results at the start of the season saw Uwe Rosler sacked and former Rotherham manager Steve Evans appointed on a permanent basis.

Evans has been relatively successful so far with Leeds and they have currently won two on the bounce, with wins against Cardiff and Huddersfield with the former being extra special as they hadn't won at home for seven months.

Evans' management and tenure has highlighted a number of good players for Leeds that are all decent young prospects capable of making a step up and garnering some significant money.

Money would be a good thing for Leeds to be bringing in, due to the current instability of the club, but fans won't be happy at the decision to sell some of their best players.

Here's a list of FIVE players that Leeds United could well cash in on in the summer......

Giuseppe Bellusci

The Leeds centre-back was a solid rock for them last season, when brought him in and alongside captain Sol Bamba they formed an impressive partnership, for what was a previously defensively frail Leeds team.

They had for some time a better defensive record than the Middlesbrough pair of Daniel Ayala and Ben Gibson and gained praise for this.

The partnership has not been anyway near as impressive this season, with them leaking goals in the way there only to accustomed too.

This is due to the decline of form of Bellusci, who has been a disaster at the back, including a disastrous own goal he scored against Middlesbrough.

With Cooper likely to partner Bamba now, Leeds should get rid of Bellusci who will bring in money as he is good at set pieces and solid on his day.

Alex Mowatt

The Leeds attacking midfielder is one of their best young players, and is one of their most dangerous in form.

His shooting ability is well known and he has scored superb goals in his last two games against Huddersfield and Cardiff.

He also earned Man of the Match awards for his performance in both games showing his resurgence of late.

Under Rosler, Mowatt was benched a lot and rarely used and fans could never understand why, now Evans has called him back up to the first team squad he is showing his potential and will undoubtedly attract a few Premier League suitors and cost quite a bit.

Marco Silvestri

The young Italian goalkeeper was mostly superb last season between the sticks, and had become Leeds' nailed down number one.

His incredible performance last season against Middlesbrough highlighted why people see him as a future international.

But he has endured a pretty miserable season so far this campaign, as his defence have been much poorer and his performances have been called into question by the fans.

The young man is likely still to cost a handsome fee though and is worth selling on.

Lewis Cook

The young midfielder is one of the Championship's hottest young starlets and his partnership in the middle of the park with Murphy, was essential to the Leeds recovery last season.

At only 18, he has played for England at youth levels and has been tipped as a future England international.

One of the very best young centre midfielders in the league, he has shown his maturity with excellent performances throughout this season but he has been poor this season.

Whilst Leeds will be reluctant to sell one of their best young prospects, it will be hard to resist when one of the big boys come swooping with a big money bid.

Dropped under Rosler after difficulties discussing a new contract, he has been brought back into the first team by new manager Steve Evans, and his performances have been vital to their mini recovery.

But the player is clearly unsettled at Elland Road and seen as one of the best young right backs at this level, has garnered Premier League interest.

Everton are apparently wanting him to replace Seamus Coleman.

Whilst this has not happened Everton are likely to be interested with a big money bid of around £10 million and Leeds will not want to keep an unsettled player at the club.
