On Saturday Leeds United travel to Luton Town, in what will be Marcelo Bielsa’s 70th game in charge of the club.

Since the Argentine arrived at Elland Road last summer, the club has gone through a transition of positive change, and are now established as one of the favourites for promotion to the Premier League.

Bielsa can boast a 53.6%-win ratio and could see his side move to the top of the table should they win at Luton and results go their way.

Here we take a look at five players who are proving invaluable to Marcelo Bielsa…

Some United fans may a little surprised to see the on-loan Manchester City winger make this list, and he may not have a few weeks ago.

Two goals and three assists in the last five games however has led to his inclusion on this list.

Harrison made 37 league appearances for the club last season, and has so far featured in all of United’s league matches this term.

The club have the option to make Harrison's stay permanent at the end of this season and should Bielsa still be at the helm at Elland Road, this would seem incredibly likely.

Bielsa is clearly a big fan of the 22-year-old and his attacking flair and eye for a goal is proving invaluable to Bielsa.

The Northern Irishman has made 162 appearances for the Whites, since arriving from Brentford in the summer of 2015.

Dallas only managed 27 league appearances for the club last season due to a fractured foot but has so far featured in every league game this term.

The 28-year-old has so far played four different positions for Bielsa this term, right-back, left-back, right-midfield and even central midfield.

Dallas’ work-rate has won many plaudits with United’s fanbase and his versatility is making him an invaluable part of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans.

Klich played in every game under Bielsa apart from the FA Cup defeat to Queens Park Rangers last term.

In his 46 league appearances, the Polish-midfielder scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in his first full season at Elland Road.

After being frozen out under Thomas Christiansen, Klich joined FC Utrecht in January 2018 but since Bielsa’s arrival in West Yorkshire, he has been one of the first names on the team-sheet.

Although the 29-year-old has only managed one goal and one assist so far this term, he is still proving a stalwart of Marcelo Bielsa’s midfield and recently signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with the club.

Both Bielsa and United fans will be hoping the Brighton loanee remains at Elland Road in January, with the 22-year-old being linked back with his parent club.

Links have cooled in the last week and that will be relief for Bielsa and everyone connected with United.

White has played every minute of United’s campaign so far this season and the side have kept eight clean sheets this term, conceding the fewest amount of goals in the division.

United fell short last-term, partly due to defensive errors, but White so far this term has been invaluable to United’s defence.

Although his stay at Elland Road is currently only temporary, Bielsa will no doubt look for the player to be a permanent fixture of his defence this term.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

The 23-year-old is arguably the most improved player at the club since Bielsa took charge, endearing supporters with his solid defensive work and eye for a killer pass.

Phillips impressed so much last term for the Whites the club had to fight of Premier League interest over the summer and in turn offered him a new five-year contract, which the midfielder committed to.

Phillips is arguably the most indispensable player to Marcelo Bielsa and his Leeds United squad and will no doubt play a key role in United’s quest for promotion this term.

Phillips' calm presence is crucial to the way Bielsa sets up his side, the 23-year-old does the tidying up at the back and breaks up opposition attacks, whilst also leading the ball out from the back to quickly turn defence into attack.

It will be no surprise to Leeds fans to see the midfielder's name being mentioned for Gareth Southgate's England squad and although an England call-up might not be too far away, Phillips will remain the key part of Marcelo Bielsa's team.
