With the Sky Bet League Two season drawing to a close, a series of players have impressed throughout the campaign, and could earn moves to bigger clubs due to their performances this season.

Many League One and Championship sides have registered an interest in these players and could launch bids to sign them in the summer.

English football's fourth tier has a history of producing quality players who have flourished in the Championship including Burnley striker Andre Gray, who was a product of the Shrewsbury Town academy.

Also, Bristol City midfielder Marlon Pack made his name at Cheltenham Town.

Hull City playmaker Nick Powell earned a huge move to Manchester United after impressing for Crewe Alexandra prior to 2012.

Crystal Palace forward Dwight Gayle's goal scoring antics for Dagenham and Peterborough United earned him a move to the Premier League.

Here are FIVE more League Two players who could follow their footsteps......

Matty Taylor - Bristol Rovers

The former non-league striker is currently top scorer in League Two with 26 goals and has been labelled as the next Jamie Vardy by some.

Taylor signed for Bristol Rovers in July 2014 when his contract at Forest Green Rovers expired.

He scored 20 goals in his first season at the Memorial Stadium and helped Bristol Rovers secure an instant return to the Football League, beating Grimsby in the Conference play off final last season.

The 26 year-old has continued his prolific form this season. Bristol Rovers have a good chance of finishing in the top three and with Taylor’s goal contributions, the club could seal back to back promotions.

Kemar Roofe - Oxford United

Roofe

Recently named as League Two player of the year, Kemar Roofe has made a massive impact at Oxford United this season.

The 23- year-old has netted 25 goals in all competitions for the U’s, an outstanding achievement for a midfielder.

Following a series of unsuccessful loan spells, Roofe left former club West Brom to link up with Oxford at the start of this season and has impressed ever since.

He is considered as one of the hottest prospects in the Football League and has attracted interest from many Championship clubs, including QPR.

Oxford are on the verge of automatic promotion, however they are likely to face an uphill battle to keep hold of Roofe and his 20 year-old teammate Callum O’Dowda in the summer, who is also showing great potential.

Ollie Watkins - Exeter City

Ollie Watkins

A product of the Exeter City academy, Ollie Watkins has burst onto the scene at St James Park.

The 20- year-old attacker has recently been named as the Football League's young player of the Month in March, after scoring four goals in six games, an incredible feat considering he had not managed to score before that time.

Born and bred locally, Watkins looks set to follow in the footsteps of recently departed striker Tom Nichols, who impressed with goal scoring exploits before joining Peterborough United in February.

Watkins has recently expressed his desire to leave the club for a bigger team when he has fully established himself with the Grecians.

For the time being, he and Exeter will look to cement a place in the League Two playoffs.

Adam Smith - Northampton Town

Adam Smith

Adam Smith has been named in the Football League team of the year, recognised as the best goalkeeper in all three divisions.

The 23-year-old shot stopper has kept 13 clean sheets so far this season, and has played a huge part in Northampton’s promotion campaign.

This is also Smith’s first full season in the Football League after signing from Leicester City last summer.

Josh Windass - Accrington Stanley

Josh Windass has enjoyed a successful season at Accrington Stanley.

The 22- year-old midfielder has managed to score 14 goals in just 29 appearances and has formed a deadly partnership with Billy Kee up front.

Windass has helped sustain Stanley’s fairytale season, with the club currently occupying a play-off place.
