There will always be those fans who clamour for their club to look into the lower leagues for their next signing, and the evidence of late is that they might well be correct in that wish.

Young players from the lower leagues have flourished over the past few seasons, including Delle Alli who has made the step up to Premier League level and excelled on the big stage, making his international debut in the process.

League Two is no different, and there are plenty of hidden gems down in League Two performing to a high standard who perhaps deserve the chance to operate at a higher level.

This season alone has shown plenty of players demonstrate their ability, and now more than ever is the ideal time for them to be showcasing these talents as Premier League scouts are scouring the lower leagues to discover the next Alli.

Here at FLW, we have taken a look at FIVE players from League Two who people should look out for......

Cameron McGeehan

Cameron McGeehan

The 20-year-old midfielder has been a revelation since securing a permanent move to Luton in the summer from Premier League Norwich.

The tricky wide man has impressed with his form all season, scoring 10 goals in 30 appearances for the Hatters, and impressing fans and pundits alike.

Many are tipping McGeehan to earn a move to a higher level, and it would come as no surprise to anyone if he secured a move to the Championship or even a lower Premier League team.

He is still young enough to build on his game and grow in to his body, and he is most definitely one to look out for as the season draws to a close, with interest in him surely set to hot up during the summer.

Darnell Furlong

Although his parent club is in the Championship with QPR, Furlong has been excellent since spending time on loan with both Northampton and Cambridge this season.

The full back, who is the son of former QPR striker Paul Furlong, has excellent pace and has already made his debut for the Championship side before being sent out on loan this year.

It will be interesting to see if Furlong sees his career back at Loftus Road, or, like Cameron McGeehan, sees his long term future in the lower leagues but playing regular first team football. Both Cambridge and Northampton would definitely take Furlong back you would assume.

Conor Chaplin

The 19-year-old attacker is most definitely one of the brightest sparks playing football outside of the top two leagues, and Portsmouth know they are lucky to have such a good young player.

He has made over 20 appearances this season and contributed six goals during that period, as Portsmouth have put themselves in the play-off positions and in with a shout of sealing a return to League One.

Chaplin is a product of the Pompey youth system, and the club will be keen to keep hold of him now their financial worries are behind them.

However, interest in Chaplin is likely to be high come the summer, and the club will be hard pressed to resist any substantial bids for their star man.

Josh Windass

The 22-year-old and son of former top flight striker Dean has been in excellent form for little Accrington this season, already hitting double figures for goals and making over 20 appearances.

Able to play up the top or off the forward positions, Windass has really impressed coaches and fans in the League, impressing Scottish giants Rangers, who have promptly snapped him up on a pre contract agreement to join them in the summer.

However, fans of Windass will be keen to keep an eye on him, and will be hoping that after playing for Rangers, he finds himself back in England with one of England's higher ranked clubs, which his ability no doubt deserves.

Ben Kennedy

Kennedy is a 19-year-old Northern Irishman, and has been tipped to even make a late push to make the Euro 2016 squad if he can discover his best form once again.

The midfielder has scored two goals in his 15 appearances this season, and is highly thought of throughout the league, attracting plenty of scouts from the leagues above to come and witness his performances.

Kennedy will have hoped to have made more appearances than he has this season, but his talent is there for all to see and he will no doubt be someone plenty of clubs are keeping tabs on during the summer transfer window.
