Daryl Murphy is an experienced old hand at Ipswich and one of the best strikers in the division, at the age of 33 he is still one of the most lethal finishers in the Championship, and has earned international call ups for his consistency.

Only last season he spearheaded the Ipswich attack, scoring 27 goals making him the division's top scorer and he was nominated for Championship Player of the Year.

His goals led Ipswich to the play-offs, where they were beaten by arch rivals Norwich.

He suffered from a bit of a drought this season but after netting a hat trick against Rotherham he got going and now has seven goals in 23 games, with Ipswich aiming for the play-offs once again.

Mick McCarthy has built all of his Ipswich sides on a shoestring budget so the fact they challenge for the top six every season is very impressive, and also down to Murphy.

But they have been in this league longer than any other club and are desperate to make a Premier League breakthrough, and finding Murphy a consistent striker partner may be the key.

This season Murphy plays alongside Brett Pitman who's goals helped Bournemouth to the Premier League, and at the moment is joint top scorer with Murphy.

Last season Murphy did it all on his own really with rare contributions from Freddie Sears and David McGoldrick.

Fraizer Campbell

The former Cardiff striker is still on the books at Crystal Palace despite it looking unlikely he has a future there.

With Cardiff he showed good ability at this level and with his contract likely to be cancelled this summer, he will be looking for a move to the Championship.

With McCarthy's reputation of assembling squads for barely any money spent he will look an attractive proposition for Ipswich, as he can do a job at this level.

His finishing has been poor in recent seasons but his pace is still there and that is something Murphy lacks so the combination may work.

Dwight Gayle

Another Crystal Palace player on the lips of many Championship sides is Gayle ,who has been linked with a move away for a while.

Ever since moving there from Peterborough after scoring 7 in 9 games, he has been very inconsistent and not nailed down a first team place.

He has had moments of brilliance like his 2 goals against Liverpool which ended their title chances, but has been pushed out a bit at palace and them signing Adebayor has left little place for him there.

Palace had agreed a deal with Bristol City for him but Gayle refused the move in favour of fighting for his first team place at Palace.

But he has failed to do his and even though Mick would need to get the chequebook out it would be a great signing for any Championship side.

Zach Clough

The Bolton striker is one of the few shining lights for Bolton in their miserable season and looks set for a summer move.

Bolton's poor financial state has left them desperate and they have no money to bring players in, and their relegation from the Championship this season looks very likely.

He has had a few injury problems but the 21-year-old has a big future in the game and will move when Bolton drop to League One with a host of Championship and Premier League sides interested.

Ipswich could do with some young blood up front to help Freddie Sears and Murphy, who ended last season well.

Peter Crouch

The veteran striker is wasting away at Stoke during the latter stages of his career, even though the big man has much more to give.

The switch in style at Stoke to fast flowing football means Crouch who is roughly 2 metres tall doesn't suit the tactics anymore, but he does suit the Championship's style perfectly and Ipswich's especially.

Ipswich tend to lump the ball up the pitch and this works well with a man of Crouch's size and with the deal unlikely to cost much, it would be an ambitious move as Crouch is known around the football world for his finishing.

Tom Bradshaw

bradshaw822

The Walsall striker is everything Ipswich could need and they should take a gamble on him.

He has 13 goals this season and is spearheading their charge for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

He is still young and his finishing is excellent, and the last time McCarthy bought a League One striker in the shape of Freddie Sears he proved very useful in the season run in.

Bradshaw has represented Wales at youth level and is one of the best young strikers in the Football League showing his ability to hurt Championship sides, when scoring a hat trick against Nottingham Forest in the cup.
