Huddersfield Town are in the middle of a resurgence under new manager Danny Cowley, as they ook to climb the table and away from the relegation zone.

Before last weekend's disappointing 3-1 defeat to Preston North End at Deepdale, the Terriers were the form team of the division, having gone on a seven-game unbeaten run, which has lifted them from the abyss to three points clear of the bottom three.

Before the appointment of Danny Cowley, Town were in free-fall following their relegation from the Premier League and back-to-back relegations seemed likely with no end to their torrid run in sight. However, since then the West Yorkshire side have completely overhauled their fortunes and confidence, picking up consistent results home and away.

Here, we take a look at five players who are invaluable to Danny Cowley as Huddersfield look to continue their revival this season...

The first player needs no introduction and is a pivotal player to Danny Cowley's plans for this season, and that is Karlan Grant. The striker has been in fine form ever since signing for the Terriers last January.

This season, he has already scored nine goals and registered two assists in 16 league games, demonstrating his vital contribution to the side. If Huddersfield are to achieve more this season, it is paramount that they hold onto Grant in January.

The second player is midfield engine Lewis O'Brien, who has demonstrated great tenacity and confidence in attacking midfield since the departure of Aaron Mooy.

O'Brien is perhaps more suited to a deeper centra-midfield role but he is relishing the chance to move higher up the pitch and has been one of Cowley's most important players this season at just 21-years-old.

The next player is showing his influence at the other end of the pitch, and that is centre-back Christopher Schindler, who has been an ever-present for the Terriers this season whilst donning the captain's armband too.

If Huddersfield are to continue their great run of form, they need to be tight at the back and Schindler will be crucial to that going forward with the other centre-back slot showing more inconsistency in selection.

A player who hasn't seen much action from the start of games but has still managed to have a huge impact fro Huddersfield is central-midfielder Juninho Bacuna - his goal against Stoke kickstarted their season with its first win.

Bacuna has had to be patient for opportunities under Cowley but he is taking them when they come, with four goals and an assist under Cowley, as just one of them came from a league start (last time out against Preston).

The final player is attacker Elias Kachunga. While is can be said that he hasn't had the greatest season so far by his standards, his hard work and patience have been synonymous with the club in their incredible highs and lows over the past few years.

Going forward for the Terriers, they know they can rely on Kachunga to put in consistent tireless performances that often go unnoticed, but Cowley will be so grateful to have players like Kachunga in the squad.
