Reading need to to get themselves some exciting signings this summer as they look for a more upbeat campaign than last year.

The men from the Madejski Stadium were meant to have a bright season in 2017/18, of course, but dramatically fell short of expectations and spent much of the year threatened by relegation.

Jaap Stam duly left the club as Paul Clement came in, then, and with him steering them to safety he now needs to add some spark to a failing Reading front-line.

Barrie McKay, then, is someone to look at:

It would appear that Nottingham Forest are willing to let the winger go this summer after a bright start to last season was followed by him falling dramatically down the pecking order.

Indeed, he would seem in need of a new start somewhere but for a player so young he has plenty of time to still make something of his career for sure.

There's evident quality with the former Rangers player, he just needs belief instilled into him once more, and Paul Clement could be the man to offer that with his forward-thinking football.

Certainly, he'd bring some much-needed spark to the Royals for 18/19.
