It has been a hugely impressive year for Joe Bryan at Bristol City, with the left-back’s reputation continuing to grow at Ashton Gate.

Lee Johnson’s side have impressed over the course of the last 12 months, reaching the Carabao Cup semi-final, as well as challenging for the play-offs in the Sky Bet Championship.

Bryan has been a key member of Johnson’s squad, with the left-back attracting interest from Burnley, who are ready to pay £6m to secure his service.

The 24-year-old is the latest feature of our FLW Spotlight:

Bryan featured on 43 occasions for Bristol City, scoring five goals from full-back and assisting a further three.

The 24-year-old’s attacking intent is further highlighted with an average of 1.7 dribbles per game.

Defensively Bryan is also impressive, averaging 2.9 tackles per game and 3.1 clearances every time he takes to the field.

The Verdict

Bryan is a hugely impressive left-back, who has more than enough quality to play in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old would improve Burnley’s squad, but he will have his doubts about moving to Turf Moor, given Charlie Taylor’s lack of opportunities under Sean Dyche.

Taylor and Bryan are very similar and have taken similar career paths, but Dyche has this season preferred Stephen Ward at left-back.

Bryan needs to back his ability, though, as he has more than enough to become a regular starter at Turf Moor.

There will be doubts from both parties, but if the opportunity comes for Bryan to make the move to Burnley, who are a club on the rise, he simply has to take it.
