Current Everton boss Roberto Martinez is do an outstanding job at Goodison Park.

Since taking over the reigns in Merseyside, he has lead Everton to a fifth and 11th placed finish in the Premier League.

In addition to this, Everton got to the round of 16 in the Europa League last season under Martinez.

The success of Martinez may come at a cost to Everton, however, as bigger clubs may try to lure the 42-year-old to manage them.

When Martinez does eventually depart Everton, they should definitely look to the Football League when searching for a new manager.

Managers of Football League sides are experienced in delivering success with relatively small budgets, which would make them suitable for the job at Everton.

The Merseyside club have appointed managers previously from the Football League, most notably David Moyes, who joined them from Preston North End in 2002.

Gary Rowett

Rowett has come a long way since becoming the manager of Burton Albion in 2012.

His success at Burton was rewarded by Birmingham showing interest in him, and he became the Blues' manager last season.

Since then, he has done a remarkable job at St Andrews, as Birmingham currently sit sixth in the Championship.

What makes Rowett a good option for Everton is his ability to work with a small budget and achieve success doing so.

Paul Cook

Paul Cook has the capabilities of going a very long way in football management.

The Liverpool born man has already achieved a promotion with Chesterfield to League One, and is looking to do the same with Portsmouth this season.

What really stands out about Cook's sides is the attractive style of football they play, similar to the style Martinez has implemented at Everton.

Aitor Karanka

If Everton are looking for a methodical and tactically sound manager when Martinez departs, Karanka may be their man.

Karanka impressed at Middlesbrough last season as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League, and is impressing this season, as 'Boro sit second in the Championship.

The 42-year-old has experience at the top level, having been Real Madrid's assistant manager from 2010-13.

Sean Dyche

Dyche has been a fantastic manager for Burnley since taking over there in 2012.

He achieved a promotion to the Premier League in 2014, whilst he has nurtured players such as Danny Ings, currently at Liverpool, in his time at Turf Moor.

Dyche is currently trying to plot an immediate return to the Premier League for Burnley, who sit fifth in the Championship.

Paul Clement

His Derby side are currently third in the Championship, and will be looking to achieve promotion to the Premier League this season under Clement.
