Wolverhampton Wanderers are not having the impact on the Championship that they had hoped for at the start of the current season, they sit mid-table and look set to remain in the middle of this division for the rest of this campaign.

Wolves are 13th in the table on 43 points, 12 points behind sixth placed Sheffield Wednesday and unless there is a severe drop in form by the top sides, the play-offs are out of reach for Wolves.

Wanderers picked up their first win at the weekend in six matches, though it will have done nothing to make fans think they will achieve anything better than a mid-table finish.

Some would argue that Wolves' recruitment has not been good enough - we will take at look at the current squad and see who is not good enough to play for this proud club.

Here in the opinion of FLW's Anthony Yeo is a list of FIVE current Wolves squad members that should not have been signed by the club...... Do you agree?

Dave Edwards

This may be a controversial choice, but hear me out.

The 30- year-old midfielder signed from Luton in 2008 and in League Two he was a formidable player, but the Championship is a much harder, competitive division.

His displays in gold have not necessarily been bad but he gets caught out too many times, and at times gives away the ball far to cheaply.

With Wolves have a bloated midfield pool to choose from, the centre of the park is still causing Wolves all sorts of problems.

George Saville

Another selection from Wolves' packed but ineffective midfield, Saville was sent on loan to Millwall where he played twelve games and failed to impress the Lions enough to extend his loan spell.

The midfielder did score two goals on the weekend against Derby County, but unfortunately his performance levels on the whole are just not quite good enough to at this level, and it was arguably a mistake bringing him into the club.

Tommy Rowe

The 27-year-old midfielder is another signing brought into to an already over populated midfield ,and was not an improvement on the players already at the club.

It seems to be a common theme where players have been brought into the side who are just the same as the current playing staff.

The recruitment policy is at fault here, not the player he came in.

Rowe does not offer anything different to what is already on the field, which is also not quite good enough at Championship level.

Mike Williamson

Williamson stated when joining the club for his second spell he wants to help them return to the Premier League.

However at 32, Williamson is not quite the player he used to be, although his experience could be great for the dressing room.

I'm not sure his body is up to the rigours of Championship football, and that has been showcased by Wolves' awful run of form prior to their win against Derby County.

Joe Mason

The striker signed from Cardiff in January, and has scored two goals in three games for Wolves, but he still makes the list of players that should not of been signed.

There is no doubt that Mason is a very good player and in normal circumstances he would be an excellent addition to the playing staff.

He was signed without a clear idea of where he would fit into the current style of play and formation, and Kenny Jackett seemingly has no clue where best to utilise his assets.

On this basis they should not of brought a player into the club without knowing where he would fit in their system once again, showcases poor recruitment.

Have your say.......Do you agree with the players on this list? Should there be someone else on this list of squad players? Will Wolves improve on their League position? Leave your thought and opinions in the box below!
