Sheffield Wednesday are facing a major rebuild this summer under Garry Monk, with the Owls looking to revamp their squad and fight once more for a Premier League return.

A lot of players are out of contract at Hillsborough heading into this summer and will move on, but there are a couple the club will hope to tie down to fresh terms to be part of this rebuild.

Amongst those players who has failed to secure a new deal is season’s top goalscorer Steven Fletcher.

It's a big blow for the Owls who will be losing a vital source of goals.

With that in mind, we take a look at FIVE realistic replacements the Owls could consider to replace him…

Taylor’s future looks like it will lay away from Charlton Athletic, no matter what happens with the Addicks in the remaining nine games of the season.

He’s struck 11 goals in the Championship for the Addicks this season and would be a sound addition to the Wednesday squad if they found themselves in the awkward position of replacing Fletcher.

Woodrow is part of the Barnsley squad staring down the barrel of relegation back into League One. In truth, the 25-year-old doesn’t deserve that on his CV as he has been fantastic this season.

In 31 appearances, Woodrow has struck 14 goals and registered two assists, proving to be capable of leading the line and playing in a creative role just behind the strikers.

He’d be a player that could thrive at Hillsborough.

Martin’s career with Derby County looks like it will be coming to an end in the summer and he’d be a really good, experienced option to replace Fletcher.

Monk could trust the Scot to stand the heat of the Championship and his experience would be vital in helping a new-look squad gel.

It wouldn’t be unlike Monk to head back to a former club and look to raid them in search of players.

If that’s the case and the finances are right, he may well look to link back up with Jutkiewicz and tempt him out of Birmingham City.

The striker scored a whopping 14 goals and registered 10 assists under Monk last season, whilst this year, he’s well into double figures already.

Alternatively, Monk could look into the lower leagues for his perfect Fletcher replacement.

An obvious place to look would be Blackpool, where Gnanduillet has been in fine form.

The 28-year-old has struck 18 goals in all competitions this season.
