5 clearances, 1 tackle: The Hull City star who deserves plenty of praise

Hull City are still battling away in the Sky Bet Championship under Nigel Adkins, with the Tigers looking to put daylight between themselves and the relegation zone.

It has been a good week for the Tigers, who have managed to build a gap between themselves and Birmingham City, who currently occupy the final spot in the relegation zone.

Adkins’ side have picked up four points in the last week, beating Sheffield United on Friday night, before backing that up with a valuable point against Barnsley at the KCOM Stadium on Tuesday, which has opened up a three points gap to the bottom three.

Hull’s hero on Tuesday night was Michael Dawson, who hauled his side level during the second-half, cancelling out Oli McBurnie’s opener for Barnsley.

Here at FLW, we take a closer look at Dawson’s contribution at the KCOM Stadium:

Dawson completed 90 minutes, and most importantly, scored the goal that secured a 1-1 draw for Hull.

Other areas of Dawson’s game were also impressive, with the defender making one tackle and five clearances over the course of the 90 minutes.

In possession the 34-year-old made 68 passes and completed just six long balls.
