After an underwhelming season at Molineux last term, Wolverhampton Wanderers will look to rebuild this summer in an attempt to launch a promotion bid.

The Play-offs seemed a realistic goal last year but Wolves drastically tailed off in the second half of the season and subsequently ended up with mid-table mediocrity.

Wolves have plenty of talented youngsters that are gracing the first team: Dominic Iorfa is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs whilst Jordan Graham, Kourtney Hause and Connor Hunte have all shown glimpses of their talent. If they add a few more talented youngsters then that could help their campaign next year.

Chelsea have always been open to loaning out their non first-teamers. Over 30 players were shipped out on temporary deals last year and they are likely to continue in this fashion whilst no restrictions are in place. This could be a good market for Wolves to dip into.

Here are FIVE Chelsea starlets that Wolves should consider signing...

Jamal Blackman

Jamal Blackman

Wolves need a goalkeeper. If not to replace Ikeme then definitely to compete with him for a starting spot between the sticks.

22-year-old Blackman is way down the pecking order at Chelsea and has had spells out on loan at Middlesbrough and Ostersunds FK.

It might be time for Blackman to move on permanently and Wolves are in the market for a 'keeper, or Conte might want to give him one more chance to prove himself on loan. Either way, Wolves should be the beneficiaries.

Todd Kane

Versatile defender Todd Kane has been in the Chelsea first team squad for 5 years now without making his senior debut.

He has had two loan spells at Blackburn as well as stints at Bristol City, Preston, Nottingham Forest and NEC Nijmegen. It is unlikely that he will break into the Chelsea first team back four so another loan or even a permanent transfer beckons.

Kane is a natural right back but can also operate at left back, centre back or holding midfield so he is a useful asset to any Championship side.

John Swift

Swift has enjoyed some very profitable loan spells in England at Swindon and Brentford whilst also being a top performer in Chelsea's under-21 side.

A tidy central midfielder, Swift has a good range of passing and is comfortable in possession.

Brentford rated him highly and might try to tempt him back to Griffin Park but Wolves could tempt him with a more realistic chance of winning promotion.

Lewis Baker

England under-21 star Lewis Baker just finished a successful spell at Vitesse and returns to Chelsea a better player for it.

The 21-year-old midfielder probably needs another stint out on loan and Wolves can probably assure him of first-team football.

Baker is an exciting, attack-minded midfielder with an eye for goal and could liven up the Wolves midfield.

Patrick Bamford

Carry out a post-mortem of their season and the prognosis is clear: Wolves need a striker.

Benik Afobe's January exit hit the Midlanders hard and goals dried up and Nouha Dicko has been injured all season. They have been relying on Joe Mason since January - a competent forward by all means but not a prolific goalscorer who is going to fire you to the top spaces in the league.

Patrick Bamford, aged 22, is prolific outside of the top flight and has a proven goalscoring track record. His signing would guarantee goals and he would be a fantastic frontman to build a team around.
