There are lots of strikers in the Championship currently impressing, and with January round the corner they may soon find themselves in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a fairly big squad at his disposal, but his options upfront are limited. He currently has Christian Benteke and Divock Origi avaialble, with Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings injured.

The German has a reputation for finding gems, and young players with potential and making them better players so he may well take a gamble and look in the Championship for a goalscorer.

Although the gap between the Premier League and the Championship is big, a number of strikers in recent times have proved there are good strikers to be found in the Championship.

Here are FIVE Championship strikers Liverpool could sign in January.....

Moussa Dembele

The Fulham prodigy has really started to show his potential this season.

Still only 19, the French forward has scored seven goals so far this season for the first team. He has pace and power and is a good finisher.

Dembele is out of contract in the summer and Fulham are set to offer him a new contract to fend off interest. He is an exciting prospect who Liverpool should look at Signing.

Andre Gray

When Gray joined Burnley from Brentford in the summer for around £9 million it raised many eyebrows.

However, he has fitted into his new surroundings very quickly and is the league's top scorer with 10 goals.

The striker is still young and has progressed up the Football League pyramid after leaving Luton Town.

Gray has pace and is a natural finisher and it wont be long before he gets his break in the top league. He is somebody Liverpool should keep an eye on.

Charlie Austin

Charlie Austin has today joined Southampton

The QPR striker has been the centre of transfer speculation all summer after the London club were relegated.

Austin is a natural goalscorer he has scored seven goals so far this season despite missing around a month through injury.

He scored 18 goals last season in the Premier League and its a surprise he's no there now.

It is likely Austin will leave in the summer if QPR dont get promoted , but his record last season may be enough to tempt a club like Liverpool to sign him in January.

Jordan Rhodes

Rhodes has always scored goals in the Championship and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League every season, but nothing has come off.

A lot of clubs are put off by his high asking price, however Liverpool have the money to spend and in a side that creates chances, Rhodes would be lethal.

Liverpool need a striker to put away many created chances and he would fit the bill.

Benik Afobe

Afobe scored 32 league goals last season for MK Dons and Wolves in what was a breakthrough season. Afobe can play as a lone striker or just behind a striker in the 'Number 10' role.

Still only 22, the Arsenal academy product has a long career ahead of him and its only a matter of time before he is playing in the Premier League especially with Wolves' poor start to the season.

If Liverpool were to make an offer for the striker it would be hard to turn down.
