A strong start to the 2015-16 Premier League season resulted in many tipping Crystal Palace for a place in Europe next season, but Alan Pardew's side have struggled since Christmas.

The Eagles haven't won or scored in their last four league outings, resulting in the team dropping to seventh in the table, five points outside the top four.

Signings like Yohan Cabaye, Bakary Sako and Connor Wickham in the summer, as well as the arrival of Patrick Bamford on loan from Chelsea, meant big things were expected from Palace this season.

However, Bamford cut his stint short because of a lack of playing time, while Sako has struggled with injury and Wickham has netted just once.

Bamford earned his shot at Premier League football after impressing on loan with Middlesbrough last season, scoring 19 goals in 44 appearances for Aitor Karanka's side, helping the team reach the playoff final.

Nahki Wells

Huddersfield Town's Nahki Wells has insisted that he won't leave the club after being linked with a number of other Championship sides, but interest from the top flight could be enough to tempt the striker away from the John Smith's Stadium.

Despite Huddersfield struggling in the early part of the season, the 25-year-old has consistently found the back of the net, scoring 10 goals in 28 appearances for the team, including five in his last six games.

Wells' ability to cut inside from the wing as well as his pace going forward could work well alongside the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Yannick Bolasie for the Eagles, and his form should see him challenge Connor Wickham and Dwight Gayle for a place in the starting lineup.

Igor Vetokele

It's not uncommon for managers to raid their old clubs during the transfer window, so Pardew could have his eye on Charlton Athletic forward Igor Vetokele.

The Belgian-born Angola international joined the Addicks long after the Palace boss departed The Valley, but he made an impression in his first season in the Championship, scoring 11 goals.

The 23-year-old has only just returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, which has restricted him to just one goal so far this term, but he's rarely struggled to find the back of the net when fully fit in his senior career, which could make him an interesting option for the Eagles.

Andre Gray

Swansea City and Newcastle United are both thought to be in a bidding war for the Championship's top scorer, Burnley's Andre Gray.

The striker has only been at Turf Moor for a few months, joining from Brentford in August, but has scored 15 times this season, including twice for his old club, so it's likely Palace would have to pay big money to convince Burnley to sell.

However, the 24-year-old has proved himself a reliable force in front of goal, which is exactly what Palace need to end their goal drought.

Ross McCormack

The Fulham striker has found the target almost as often as Gray this season, netting his 14th goal of the campaign in the defeat to Wolverhapton Wanderers earlier this week.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Championship leaders Middlesbrough, but Aitor Karanka has played down the reports, suggesting that the forward, who can also play on the wing, is still up for grabs.

The Cottagers are currently the subject of a transfer embargo, so would be looking to make a profit on the £11m they paid Leeds United for McCormack in 2014, but Palace have recently secured an American investor, so should have the funds to secure the in-form Scottish international.

Jordan Rhodes

In one of Pardew's first matches as Southampton manager in the 2009-10 season, then-Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes netted a brace, handing the now-Palace boss his first defeat with the team.

The Blackburn Rovers striker has continued to impress since then, earning a big money move to the Ewood Park in 2012, scoring 82 goals in 150 league appearances for the Championship side.

Rhodes's phenomenal goal tally resulted in him being linked with a move to Selhurst Park last summer, but they didn't meet Blackburn's valuation of the Scottish international, although the new investor means Palace could now be in a position to increase their offer.
