It is almost that time of the year for football clubs to delve into the transfer market to bolster their squads in preparation for the new season in August.

The Championship has produced some outstanding displays from an abundance of players, and many have questioned whether the division has been filled with players that should be playing at a higher level.

Some of the standout performances from the second-tier this season has come from right midfielders who have produced dazzling displays.

Premier League clubs often dip into the league below to do some business and quite often, it pays off for the top-flight side.

There have been several players such as Sam Byram, who joined West Ham United from Leeds and Benik Afobe linking up with AFC Bournemouth from Wolverhampton Wanderers this season.

However, there is yet to be an excellent right-winger that has made the significant jump to the Premier League.

With so many talented prospects, that could soon change in the next few months.

Anthony Knockaert - Brighton

The winger has made a huge impressive since arriving on the South Coast a few months ago.

He has netted two goals and already has 13 assists to his name for the Seagulls.

His contributions have led Brighton chasing for a top two spot and his outstanding displays have not gone unnoticed, as Watford are rumoured to be knocking on the door for the winger.

The North London club are expected to bid around £5 million for the right midfielder in the summer, depending on if Brighton join the Hornets in the Premier League.

A £5 million fee would see Chris Hughton's side double their money on the Frenchman, who left Leicester City for nothing last summer.

Ahmed Elmohamady – Hull City

Ahmed ElmohamadyAhmed Elmohamady

The Egyptian international midfielder has been one of the most consistent performers during his time for the Tigers and is one of the most underrated right-wingers around.

He is known for his work ethic and can deliver teasing crosses for his attacking team mates.

Since Snodgrass has come back into the frame following his long-term injury, Elmohamady has been surplus to requirements at the KC and has mainly featured from the bench.

Elmohamady’s absence from the side has come at a time when his existing contract is into the final few months.

The right midfielder could be a bargain addition to any lower league Premier League side and you can guarantee that he will give 100% effort in every game that he appears in.

Craig Noone – Cardiff City

Predominantly a left footer, Noone is often used on the right for Cardiff that proves quite effective when he cuts in onto his favoured foot.

The winger was in great form at the start of the year when he netted a brace against Wolverhampton Wanderers and has been attracted to the likes of Norwich City and AFC Bournemouth.

He has netted six goals this season and the Bluebirds will be determined to hold onto their best players, but failure to bounce back to the Premier League could result in Noone leaving for the Premier League.

Alan Judge – Brentford

Without the Brentford midfielder, the club would have severely struggled this season and it is expected that Judge will leave in the summer for a bigger club.

Despite his side struggling this year, he has contributed 14 goals and 9 assists.

His displays for Brentford have been nothing short of outstanding and he has really come into his element since Lee Carsley, and now Dean Smith took charge at Griffin Park.

He also scooped up October's player of the month award and has been nominated several times since.

If he continues his league form into Euro’s this summer with Ireland, the Bees will have a fight on their hands to keep their star player.

Tom Cairney – Fulham

Another player that has been overlooked for his performances this season, due to his club’s poor form.

Cairney, Dembele and McCormack have been a great trio for the club, with all three combined producing 46 goals this season – Cairney with 7 of them.

It is expected that there will be several of Fulham’s key players leaving the West London club this summer and I feel that one of them will be Cairney.

He has the ability to produce something from out of nothing and at the peak age of 25, he has the chance to further his career and test himself in the Premier League.
