You get the feeling that the January transfer window is going to be massive for Leeds United this season, as they finally look to make their long-awaited return to the Premier League.

Leeds went so close last season under Marcelo Bielsa, but fell agonisingly short during the second-half of the campaign.

January was a month that let Leeds down, with only Kiko Casilla joining, with Victor Orta and co failing to close a deal to bring Dan James to Elland Road.

Orta is playing down what Leeds will do in January, which is understandable given the Whites’ current options.

However, it is hard to ignore the fact that one or two quality additions could make all the difference in the second-half of the season for Leeds.

Here, we look at FIVE Championship players who should be on the radar…

Starting at the back, Ayala would be a great signing for Leeds to be looking to complete.

He might not be as good as Liam Cooper or Ben White, but he’d be a sound back-up.

With his future at Boro looking uncertain, Leeds should make a move.

Bowen would be an expensive addition, but what the Hull City winger brings you is goals.

He’s already in double figures for the season and after hitting 20+ last year, we know he can do it regularly in the Championship.

Leeds could really benefit from his goals, which has been noted by a lot of people.

The Queens Park Rangers playmaker looks such a talent.

Most in Elland Road were impressed by him the other week, despite the R’s 2-0 defeat, and there’d be a place for him in Bielsa’s team.

Since Samu Saiz left, Leeds have lacked a No.10, and although Tyler Roberts is looking a good bet, Eze would be the better option.

Bowen’s teammate would come at a fraction of the price, but would still make a short-term impact at Leeds.

Grosicki might not hit the same amount of goals as Bowen, but he creates plenty and would add something to this Leeds side on the wing.

The fact he knows Mateusz Klich well might play into Leeds’ hands too.

Since stepping up into the Championship with Charlton, Lyle Taylor has made a great impact.

He’s not a young-gun like Eze or Bowen, but he’s ready to score goals in the second-tier, which is a characteristic Leeds have been short of this season.

Taylor would really give Eddie Nketiah and Patrick Bamford some competition.
