Sheffield United have recently picked up form in League One this season, and look a team on the ascent with Chris Wilder at the helm.

The Blades started the season off poorly, failing to pick up a win in the first 4 league games, however they now sit 2nd in the table after 10 wins, 4 draws, and 3 defeats.

Wilder's men have gone 13 games unbeaten now, and this year finally looks like the season that the Blades will go up, after spending 6 gruelling years in the third tier.

But this is League One, and anything can happen, just look at Burton Albion's unlikely promotion last term, and just 10 points separate the Yorkshire side from 13th place.

Therefore here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies FIVE Championship players that Chris Wilder should look to bring into Bramall Lane on loan in January...

Jordan Lyden

The 20-year old featured in what was a dismal campaign for Aston Villa last term, however impressed the Villa Park faithful.

The Australian has made 5 appearances for Villa, and is definitely regarded as a future star at the Midlands club.

With the experience of Chris Basham next to him, Lyden would be a perfect asset in the heart of midfield for United.

Josh Murphy

Josh Murphy

Murphy has made a fine start to his professional career at Norwich City, however hasn't really made the impact his twin brother Jacob has at Carrow Road.

Josh, 21, was on loan at MK Dons last year, and netted 5 times in 42 appearances from the wing for the club, who were eventually relegated.

A loan move to Bramall Lane would definitely benefit him, having gained experience in the second tier, of where United crave to be next season...

Tennai Watson

The 19-year old is highly regarded by Reading fans.

He has made 2 appearances for the Royals, however is on the verge of being called up to the England under-20 squad, due to his fine talent at such an early age.

The right-back would be a huge asset to Chris Wilder's men, who need defensive cover in order to sustain their place towards the top end of the table, in a harsh, gruelling League One environment.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy

The Aston Villa starlet has been a shining light for Steve Bruce's men this term, impressing in his 3 appearances for the club.

The England under-18 star definitely has the potential to be a real prospect in the future, and would fit into any League One outfit.

The Blades have a knack of getting the best out of young talent, and Hepburn-Murphy's career would be heavily influenced with a move to a sleeping giant like United...

Adam Armstrong

Armstrong's loan from Newcastle expires at Barnsley in January, and there is no reason why Wilder can't lure the forward to Sheffield in January, having been so prolific in the division last term.

The 19-year old netted 20 times in 40 appearances for the Sky Blues, and has found the net 3 times for Barnsley in 10 games this season.

Having endured a promising start to his career, Armstrong finds himself desperately unlucky not to be featuring for Rafa Benitez's men this term, however a promotion push with the Blades could really kickstart his career...
