West Bromwich Albion striker Victor Anichebe has only managed 12 appearances for the Baggies this season in all competitions, failing to score in the process.

With Salomon Rondon back in form and Saido Berahino now back in the picture, Anichebe's future looks limited to cup appearances and therefore should look to drop down a tier to build up some much needed confidence and goals.

The Nigerian has only managed a total of nine goals in 57 appearances since joining the Baggies back in 2013.

Comparing a price tag of that stature with the return of goals he has scored for the football club, the best option for Tony Pulis would be to cut ties and arrange a suitable loan move for the striker.

Premier League outfit West Brom are blessed with talent, with the squad that West Brom have at its disposal and the form significantly improving lately, it is difficult to see where Anichebe would fit going forward.

A loan move to the Championship could be just what Anichebe needs to recapture his form and finally find the back of the net.

Derby County

Derby County’s form has significantly dropped of late, and now face a tough battle to remain within the play-off places with Birmingham and Cardiff pilling on the pressure.

The club who fell away from the top-six at the business end of last season currently sit in 5th place and are just five points ahead of late chasers Cardiff City, whose form has spiked recently after Pilkington was introduced as a striker.

Derby already announced interest in the 27-year-old this season although Anichebe wanted to fight for his place with the Baggies, however, the former Everton striker could be tempted to join the club on loan which would mean that Anichebe wouldn’t be required to take a pay cut.

Rotherham United

Sky Bet Championship strugglers Rotherham United appointed management veteran Neil Warnock as their new manager in mid-February taking over with the club sitting dangerously in 22nd, just three points from safety, although since taking over Rotherham have drawn 1, lost 2 and gained a massive three points over Brentford.

Despite an upturn in results under Warnock the club remain in 22nd and are still 3 points from safety.

If a deal could be done, Anichebe would be working under a top manager in Neil Warnock who’s record at this level speaks for himself.

When a club is fighting relegation, a fresh face in the dressing room could benefit moral especially if it’s a player from the top-flight, and therefore Anichebe could be the answer to survival for Warnock’s side.

Brighton & Hove Albion

One true success story this season has been Brighton and Hove Albion ,who have somehow managed to mount a consistent promotion push, despite fighting relegation last season.

At one stage it looked like Chris Hughton’s side were going to run away with the title, following a 22 game unbeaten run, before Middlesbrough burst the bubble in December with a 3-0 victory away from home.

The Seagulls beat off fierce competition from a number of Sky Bet Championship rivals to capture the signature of highly-rated James Wilson from Manchester United on loan, although the 20-year-old has only managed a lacklustre three goals in 15 appearances.

Bringing in Victor Anichebe could improve the club’s goal return, if both Anichebe and Wilson built a good relationship with Anichebe holding up play and Wilson running in behind.

QPR

Inconsistent Championship side QPR have had a disappointing season in the second tier after suffering relegation from the Premier League last season.

The club undertook a massive revamp of their squad in the summer opting to clear out the highly paid and older more experienced players, and replaced them with young, energetic lower division players although it hasn’t worked as they may have hoped.

Rangers sold prolific goal scorer Charlie Austin during the January transfer window, and could benefit from an additional striker to offer Hasselbaink another option in attack.

Charlton Athletic

Jose Riga's Charlton visit Brentford today (3pm kick-off)

Sky Bet Championship strugglers Charlton Athletic are nailed on for relegation this season with fans at the end of their tether.

It is very unlikely that Charlton will mount a miracle and remain in the second tier of English football, although the loan signing of Victor Anichebe from West Brom could lift spirits at The Valley.

However, Anichebe may not fancy a relegation scrap but would highly benefit from minutes on the pitch, would could be a deciding factor in the 27-year-old joining Charlton.

What do you think? Would you like Anichebe at your club on loan? Or would you prefer a prolific goal scorer? Let us know in the comments below!
