James Wilson is a very good prospect developing at Manchester United, and has shown potential to become a prolific striker.

Van Gaal has not given him a loan deal this season and he has started a few games for Manchester United, but has failed to make an impression.

He hasn't scored any goals this season and with the emergence of Anthony Martial, he is likely to be isolated to cup appearances.

But that situation doesn't suit Wilson or Manchester United as they would want him getting first team experience with a team playing at a good level.

This would point to the Championship, and there would be many top teams interested in signing up the young starlet for the run in.

Wilson has played for England at U21 level and scored for them, and this experience makes him an attractive prospect for any top Championship side.

A lot of Championship sides may feel they're lacking a bit of firepower up front and a lack of options if their main striker gets injured, making Wilson the perfect solution.

Here are FIVE Championship clubs who should be interested in a January loan deal for Wilson.....

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough are one of the sides chasing the top two this season after last year's heartbreak in the play-off final, where they were beaten 2-0 by Norwich City.

Last season they had the best defence in the league and their attack was also quite potent with loanee Patrick Bamford from Chelsea, scoring 19 goals, showing Middlesbrough's ability to use the loan market well.

Middlesbrough have been one of the top scorers this season but some fans feel they still lack a striker, as Bamford has left and Stuani has been out injured.

Wilson would certainly be a shrewd move for the run in.

Derby County

Another side with genuine ambition of the top two this season, the Rams look like a solid outfit.

Shackell has come in and tightened the backline up and Chris Martin up front has been consistent as ever.

But last season, Derby fell away due to the injury to Martin and their lack of a back up, and Bent looks like the club's only genuine back up this season as well.

Wilson would be a good purchase in January to safeguard them from any potential injury, which may hit Martin during the run in and make sure Derby can maintain their challenge.

Sheffield Wednesday

The Yorkshire side have enjoyed a great resurgence under Carvalhal this season and they are genuine contenders for the top six this season.

They have a very inventive midfield with players like Forestieri, Bannan and Wallace contributing goals and frontman Joao has done a good job up front, despite his young age.

But with only the inconsistent Nuhiu as back up, Wednesday will be keen to add some back up for their front line and Wilson would be ideal.

Leeds United

The struggling side have been failing to pick up results this season and it cost manager Uwe Rosler his job.

Under the turbulent leadership of Cellino a takeover deal seems imminent from local businessman Steve Parkin.

The fans have endured a miserable campaign where goals have been at a premium.

They are recovering under manager Steve Evans with two straight wins including their first home win in seven months, and Evans will want to continue his revolution by adding some firepower like Wilson.

Birmingham

The Midlands side's revolution under Gary Rowett since last season has been a joy to behold - he has brought stability to a once beleaguered club.

He has made them solid at the back and they do struggle for goals sometimes with midfielders often having to contribute.

Donaldson gets better with every game, but Rowett will want to add some strength in depth and Wilson would be a good choice to give Donaldson some help up front, as they try to make the play-offs.
