Portuguese midfielder Joao Carlos Teixeira has struggled to establish himself at Liverpool and it seems there is a deal in place to sell him to Fiorentina in the summer.

But in the meantime he could do with getting some first team experience in the Championship, as he has been limited to cup appearances and substitute appearances at Liverpool.

The 23-year-old has racked up appearances at every level of the Portuguese national team's youth sides, and is looking to break into the senior side now.

He has only ever made two appearances for Liverpool so his future at Anfield is doubtful, but he has shown promise in his loan spells away from the club.

Last season he was on loan at a struggling Brighton side who were trying to stave off relegation, and was one of their shining lights, bagging six goals in his 32 appearances.

Teixeira has a sweet strike on him and good passing ability, allowing him to play behind the striker but he can also play on the wing due to his pace and troubling technical ability.

Having already proved his ability at this level, there will be several Championship sides interested in acquiring him for the rest of the season before his summer move.

Here are FIVE Championship sides that should sign Joao Teixeira before the emergency loan window is over......

Brighton

The club he was on loan at last season and was part of the rally that helped Brighton survive.

His performances were one of the few shining lights for Brighton last season, with his intrinsically excellent runs behind the striker and pace troubling Championship defences.

It is fair to say Brighton have come a long way from the relegation battlers they were last season and are now genuine challengers for the Championship title.

The season's biggest surprise ,package seem to be going from strength to strength in the run in, and will be keen to bolster their options to prepare for another big push.

Wolves

After just missing out on the play-offs last season, there was deserved optimism at Molineux that they could potentially go one further and push for promotion.

But now with Afobe and Sako gone to the Premier League and Dicko out with a long term injury, it looks increasingly unlikely that they will replicate last season's success.

Their defence has been incredibly poor as well but a decent 2-1 victory over Derby at the weekend suggests they may end the season with a flourish, and bolstering their attacking options with Teixeira will help them do that.

Fulham

Fulham had high hopes after installing Slavisa Jokanovic as boss, after he won promotion with Watford last season, and also they have a money laden squad with McCormack there biggest asset.

But success has not materialised for Fulham yet this season and they look to be heading for more mid-table mediocrity.

They are heavily reliant on McCormack to get there goals so getting him some help in the shape of Teixeira would be wise.

Birmingham

Another side which showed interest in Teixeira is Birmigham who have been remarkably fixed by Gary Rowett in just one season.

From the confidence drained side that were drubbed 8-0 by Bournemouth under Lee Clarke, their squad has been rebuilt on a shoestring budget and they are now challenging for the play-offs.

Just 4 points off 6th with a game in hand they are contenders but do struggle when it comes to scoring goals ,with them very reliant on Clayton Donaldson, so bolstering the attacking threat from the midfield would be a good idea, and Teixeira will help them accomplish that.

Reading

Reading are having a stable season this year, even though the early hopes of play-offs seem to of faded with them 12 points off.

They are having a marvellous cup run and are in the quarter finals where they will play Crystal Palace for a place at Wembley.

The early season promise was mainly down to the goalscoring form of Nick Blackman but since his departure to Derby, the goals have dried up but McDermott is slowly getting them back on track.

Teixeira will help them bolster their attacking threat so they can at least end the season with a flourish, and start to prepare for a promotion push next season.
