Celtic find themselves a bit of a quandary. The club needs the sort of talent to fire them into the Champions League without being able to pay that sort of wage.

So, it's a pretty difficult situation the Hoops find themselves in. Especially with Rangers soon to return to the fold.

However, whoever the new manager may be would well advised to cast his eyes over to the Championship in an effort to make some headway on that front.

While the second tier of English football is undoubtedly getting richer, the Bhoys would at least have some chance of competing financially with some of the teams there.

With the push for automatic promotion perhaps the most pulsating it has ever been, perhaps Celtic can take advantage of the odd one out.

Should that end up being Brighton, the Seagulls are packed to the rafters with vast amounts of talent who may fancy the chances of competing for honours and potentially in the Champions League.

Liam Rosenior

Mikael Lustig is entering the final year of his deal in Glasgow and there's every chance he could leave Parkhead this summer.

Summer signing Saidy Janko has seen his season blighted by injury, leaving little options at right-back going forward.

Should the Hoops wish to turn to someone with experience, moving for former Fulham defender Liam Rosenior would be a wise option.

Vastly experienced and a stout defender, the 30-year old would give Celtic excellent balance on the right hand side.

Solly March

Considering a club of their size, when was the last time Celtic made a signing outlining a true statement of intent?

With Rangers back in the fold, that's exactly what they need to do.

Moving for England under-21 international Solly March, whose own good form has seen him linked with moves to the Premier League, would be exactly that.

The versatile attacker could float across the frontline and wreak havoc North of the Border.

Dale Stephens

Hoops skipper Scott Brown has come under fire recently after a perceived dip in form, with the Scotsman recently having to defend his recent outings.

While some of the criticism may have been a tad harsh, the club could certainly use some freshening up in the middle of the park.

Dale Stephens has excelled next to, ironically enough, former Bhoys ace Beram Kayal this season.

Still, the 26-year old has been linked with moves away from the South Coast after rejected their offer of an extension. His arrival would certainly shake things up and provide the Scottish champions with the deep-lying playmaker so desperately required.

Gordon Greer

Signing a Scottish international is always likely to prove a popular move for the new man going forward, especially a resolute defender such as Gordon Greer.

Though it will no doubt be some task replacing the excellent Virgil van Djk in Glasgow, the 30-year old would at least provide some of the stability lost when the dear Dutchman departed.

His leadership qualities would also be a welcome addition to the backline.

Tomer Hemed

Tomer Hemed has been in fine fettle this season, the only Brighton player to reach double figures in terms of goals oddly enough.

Leigh Griffiths has proved to be a great signing from Hibs, though there are doubts as to wether the Scot will be able to lead the line by himself in the Champions League.

Moving for the clinical Israeli could provide the perfect tonic to that particular problem.
