Brentford were packed to the brim full of top quality attacking players last year such as Andre Gray, Jota, Alex Pritchard and Alan Judge, but most of them have left now ensuring a difficult start to the campaign this season.

Chairman Matthew Benham was widely criticised by fans for effectively forcing Mark Warburton out of the club at the end of the season, before bringing in Marinus Dijkhuizen along with a raft of new players to replace the ones that they had lost.

Dijkhuizen had a bad reign overall and after a terrible run of results was sacked and assistant manager Lee Carsley was placed in charge and has enjoyed great success so far.

He managed to string together four wins in a row and brought the very best out of Alan Judge, resulting in him winning Player of the Month for October as well as Carsley winning the Manager of the Month award.

With Jota still to come back into the team and Djuricin looking good enough to replace the goals they lost when Gray left, Brentford could be genuine challengers for the top six again this season after their incredible fifth place finish last year.

Judge has been Brentford's best player this season and has six goals from 14 games from midfield this season.

He has been crucial so far to the successful tenure of Lee Carsley and is turning Premier League heads.

He is best known for his shots with the unbelievable power and swerve he can get on the ball and scored a beauty away at Charlton Athletic last month.

His form has also been rewarded after he was awarded the Player of the Month award for October and has been linked with a January move to the Premier League.

Having to take on greater responsibility this season due to the loss in creativity of Pritchard, Dallas and the injury to Jota, he has risen to the occasion and deserving of his praise and accolades thus far.

The 22-year-old left-back is likely to strike up 100 Brentford appearances since joining them on a permanent deal, and he has been one of there most consistent players over the last few seasons.

He is powerful in the air and aggressive in his approach to man marking.

He has also represented England at youth levels and is already very experienced for his age.

Considered as one of the best left-backs outside of the Premier League, he will definitely attract major Premier League interest as he already has done during the summer.

The Brentford shot stopper was one of their best players last season making a lot of saves and keeping plenty of clean sheets.

He pulled off plenty of stunning saves last season and kept 11 clean sheets as well as making Team of the Week.

He was linked with a move to Aston Villa at one stage and the former Tottenham Hotspur academy product will be looking for another solid season to get the Premier League clubs interested.

At 26, he has made over 100 appearances for Brentford and has played for many different teams showing his experience. He has also played with England at every youth level except Under-21's, and is certainly Premier League class.

Jota

The Portuguese winger was one of Brentford's best players last season scoring 11 goals and getting many assists, seamlessly adjusting to the English game.

He is renowned for his excellent dribbling and shooting and was linked with a move to Derby County in the summer, but it never came around.

He has only featured once for Brentford this season before picking up an injury which has kept him out for a number of months, but as Brentford continue to improve under Carsley, when Jota does return he will add some flare and will be a big boost for them.

The 24-year-old Brentford centre back has made over 100 appearances for the Bees at the back so is already an experienced player.

The vice-captain was essential along with Tarkowski last season in the defensive solidarity at the back, and has given Brentford a good balance to the squad.

He is very good in the air and also takes a very physical approach in the man marking area of defending. He is also a big threat from set pieces.
